Kenny well done mate !!!!

I wish for you and yours the same happiness our kids have given us

having a newborn and being on CPAP should not be much of an issue. As they get older you might have to go a bit careful, I found my two boys rolling marbles down the hose and into the humidifier water once

Yeah! Congratulations! The little one will have lots of uncles and aunties here.

Ken,
Your cpap thread where you kept everyone posted with all of your trials and tribulations should be required reading for all new forum members. Your perseverance and dedication towards your therapy is and inspiration and whether you know it or not a vital contribution to this message board. Congrats on the baby and hope for good health to you and yours!!

Ken, sorry to give you belated congrats, but I was away for 10 days. Took me a while to come upon your wonderful thread. I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU AND YOUR WIFE!!!! I know that the other situation was extremely traumatic, but you will be blessed with a wonderful child this time, who will grow strong and healthy, with God's help. Parenthood is fabulous--I remember all of the wonderful times with my kids, and can only wish you the very best. What a heck of a Christmas/New Year's present! Know that you and your family will be in my prayers as the term of pregnancy goes along, and I look forward to your announcement that you're a happy daddy! CONGRATS, CONGRATS, CONGRATS!

tattooyu wrote:As some of you may know, my wife and I lost our son, Andrew, last September. My wife's appendix burst at 19 weeks of pregnancy; both of them survived. At 27 weeks, she spontaneously gave birth to Andrew on our living room floor, alone. Luckily, I was just around the corner coming home. It was VERY, VERY traumatic for all three of us. He fought for a week in the NICU at Providence Saint Joseph's Hospital but developed Level 4 bilateral bleeding (IVH) in his brain. We took him off life support on September 7, 2008. He died in my arms.

However, I would like to announce...

I AM GOING TO BE A DADDY AGAIN!

We are 12 weeks along, and the baby may be born on July 4th!

I guess it's time for me to scour the board for tips on dealing with apnea and sleeplessness with a new baby!
Congrats! You and your wife are very brave and very blessed.

Seriously? That's pretty funny. Thank God they weren't using M80s! I may put a lock on our bedroom door. We'll see.

We just did our second trimester screening yesterday, and it's a boy! There it was... plain as day!

Having another boy is hugely emotional since the loss of Andrew, but we are very, very excited!

July 4th!

I suppose after last night's sleep (AI - 0.8, HI - 3.8, AHI - 4.6), I'll know what I'll feel like for the first three months. Man, I don't know WHAT happened last night. The night before I had 0.0 AI! I feel like utter crapola today... like I got hit by a small truck.

Wonderful news, Kenny. I agree, bolt that door! Apart from anything else, the kids love to play hospital, and the mask is so enticing....
