Thanks, Gary. I am doing really well with my therapy. Most nights my AI is <0.2 and I am feeling much better. I'm still going to buy a fingertip oximeter just to make sure I'm getting enough O2 (I think I am).

Hmmmm, our OB seems to think it's going to be July 3rd or 4th. Time will tell!

Kenny, not sure what kind of work you do but with my work I work a 24 hour on duty schedule and 48 hours off. We decided that I wouldn't work a second job and my wife would continue with her career. On my days off I spent them with my son until he started school.
I wouldn't trade that for anything! It seems like last year I was dropping him off for kindergarten and standing out in the back of the school waiting for him in the afternoon.

It's an experience every man should get a chance to have.

Gerry

I work 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., M-F, so I'll get the weekends to bond.

Kenny, that's wonderful news, congratulations to you and your wife.

You've not only shown tremendous and admirable courage in moving forward after such a tragedy, but you've also been able to share this with us, which not everyone can do. You've enriched our lives, and made us grateful for and appreciate our children just that little bit more. I've followed your posts in this, and am so happy for you.

You're an inspiration.

tattooyu wrote:As some of you may know, my wife and I lost our son, Andrew, last September. My wife's appendix burst at 19 weeks of pregnancy; both of them survived. At 27 weeks, she spontaneously gave birth to Andrew on our living room floor, alone. Luckily, I was just around the corner coming home. It was VERY, VERY traumatic for all three of us. He fought for a week in the NICU at Providence Saint Joseph's Hospital but developed Level 4 bilateral bleeding (IVH) in his brain. We took him off life support on September 7, 2008. He died in my arms.

However, I would like to announce...

I AM GOING TO BE A DADDY AGAIN!

We are 12 weeks along, and the baby may be born on July 4th!

I guess it's time for me to scour the board for tips on dealing with apnea and sleeplessness with a new baby!

Thank you everyone. It's nice to be an inspiration for once, rather than needing inspiration all the time.

Kenny,
I experienced a double tragedy on that very same day, so I know exactly what it must have felt like for you. But hearing that you took this in stride, pulled through and came out on top is very good news!

My thoughts and prayers will be with you through this both exciting and challenging time!

Thanks timbalionguy. I'm sorry to hear about your tragedy. We experienced a double tragedy, too, actually. A month later our beloved guinea pig, Jackson, died from complications of surgery (bladder stones). I'm just thankful we still have our other piggy, Splash. He's helped our healing tremendously. He even had the SAME surgery and came out of it fine. If he can do that, we can pull through!

Totally redundant of me, but congratulations, Kenny. Keep us informed here of news, fears, prayer needs, etc.

As for getting teary at the Love, yup, it's supposed to do that.
