I have two masks I am trying out. The Swift LT and Mirage Liberty. I loved my Mirage ffm but hated what it did to my face. I didn't realize how bad it was until now, I haven't used it for a couple of nights and the difference in my poor face is amazing. The whites of my eyes are white again instead of bloodshot and the swelling in my face has disappeared. And I didn't have to use a box of tissue this morning to stop up my watery eyes. The mirage liberty makes my eyes water a little bit like the quattro did and with the air vents all over the mask I don't seem to be able to find a way to lay my head on my pillow that isn't shutting off one of the vents. I like the Swift but it makes my nose sore. Will this go away? Also, when I remove the Swift I feel like something has had my air blocked from me all night and now I can finally breathe. So, is there a mask out there that isn't covering your whole face but doesn't have nasal pillows?

Hi Raggedytkat

A good place to look at different kinds of masks is cpap.com and cpapauction.com. The masks can be pretty cheap on cpapauction.com so it does not cost too much to try the one's you fancy.

Good luck in your search.

cheers

I tried a couple masks, but recently went back to the Swift nasal pillows. After the first week of cpap, I initially disbanded it because my nose was so sore.........but over the course of time and reading here.........I recently went back to the Swift successfully.

A couple things have changed........I added the "pad-a-cheeks" fleece on each side of the head gear to make it more comfortable and less like sleeping on hard plastic when I turned on my sides; I realized that I wasn't going under water with the headgear and so it didn't have to be tightened so tight--that made a huge difference; and before bedtime, I started using Lansinoh on my nose (or "nipple grease" as LinkC calls it--it's a lanolin based product that is very, very thick made for nursing mothers--you find it in the baby aisle of your local store by the baby bottles, formula, and diapers.) Now I love the nasal pillows and with a Regenesis buckwheat pillow from Pur-Sleep, I have cut my leaks to zero.
