Poll: How many masks do you use?
Okay, folks, how many masks do you actively use, and what kind? I have three in use now: Two nasal pillows--Swift II, and Swift LT. Nasal Mask Ultra Mirage II.

Just ONE. It's in my profile. I have a few others that I've tried (Quattro, Comfortfull 2 and Zzz-FF) and have several backup masks and seals of the same model that I use, but the UMFF is my "one and only".

Re: Poll: How many masks do you use?
I've accumulated several different masks (Swift II, Swift LT, Liberty, FullLife) over my 2+ years of therapy, but I only use one at a time. Currently, that's the Hybrid (with Whitebeard's fix to keep the pillows in place). Would love to find a FFM that I don't have to mess with (moleskin, bandaids, etc.), but as long as I can get a good seal and good therapy, I'm satisfied.
Veni, vidi, Velcro. I came, I saw, I stuck around.

Re: Poll: How many masks do you use?
I techincally use two. They are both the same. I normally use just the one but sometimes it is not dry by bedtime on the day I wash the whole thing, so I occasionally have to use my backup on that night.

This is for extra credit, and won't be on the final exam....SWS said the midterm was cancelled.

Re: Poll: How many masks do you use?
I use 3 masks regularly:
... because they each have attributes the others don't: combinations of comfort, efficacy and leak-resistance
... because masks DO affect therapy pressure patterns and efficacy results
... because one should always have options and alternatives on hand
... because comparisons and experimentation are interesting
... because they each put pressure on different areas of the nose bridge and face
... so that I never use any one more than two days in a row
In order of preference:
(1) ResMed Activa nasal mask:
. . . + the most comfortable and leak-resistant mask I've ever found; best efficacy; simple design
. . . - mouth leak needs to be monitored
(2) ResMed UltraMirage full face mask
. . . + astonishingly comfortable and generally minimal leak
. . . - lots of parts, not always easy to put back together
(3) Fisher & Paykel FlexiFit 431 full face mask
. . . + unique "under the chin" design; very few parts
. . . - more (larger & longer-lasting) nose-bridge redness than the others; harder to fit
Have numerous others, but don't use them. Three is a good number.

Just one right now, the Mirage SoftGel. I have Comfortlite 2 and Headrest, both pillows, but got tired of lab-ratting them to make them work. Might go back to them, when the weather gets too warm for the Mirage SoftGel.

Ok, I have one kind in use. I have four of them. I have one at home that I use and I keep one at the fire station and two new ones at home.

Re: Poll: How many masks do you use?
I have lots of masks. I use three of them on a regular basis. Two of the three are Activas, one is an Activa LT. One of the Activas is used at my weekend home (I don't carry masks or hose back and forth). At home, I occasionally switch from the Activa to the Activa LT or back again.
I also use an Opus 360 during the summer, and I have a Swift II that I very occasionally will use for an afternoon knap. I didn't count either of these masks because they are not used regularly at this time.

I'm workin' on it.

Re: Poll: How many masks do you use?
I use an Optilife 99% of the time and I have a FullLife for when I get congested and have to breathe thru my mouth
Re: Poll: How many masks do you use?
I have my Comfortlite 2, my Headrest, and a Zzz-mask full face.
I used the CL2 for over 6 months with the nasal pillows and direct deals, and loved it.
Switched to Headrest because it was lighter for summer wear in New Orleans.
Use the Zzz-mask if my allergies kick up or I have a respiratory infection.
I labrat every mask I've had so far with a CL2 strap because it works the best for me.

Re: Poll: How many masks do you use?
After going through most of the masks on the market, I finally found the one that works for me, and that's really what it's all about. It doesn't matter if a mask is the top seller, or gets the highest rating from users. If it doesn't work for you, then it's of no value.
I only ask for two things from a mask: Few (if any) leaks and no sores or bleeding on the bridge of my nose. What I've been using for the past couple of years accomplishes both of those objectives -- for me. Your mileage may vary.
