Stressed out over copay
Re: Stressed out over copay
Ask your sleep doctor if they have a machine they can lend you. They may have an older unit/ professional sample they can lend out until things settle down for you. Can't hurt to ask, we lend them out sometimes where I work.
Re: Stressed out over copay
Would a regular bipap work for you? I know so little about them, but I saw one for sale at cpapauction.com for $95. Maybe that one would work for you? It's probably not as good as the one you're renting, but certainly better than nothing. If that won't work, have you checked with the resource that a couple people mentioned here?

I've never dealt with them myself, but it looks like it's worth checking out considering your situation.
I really hope it works out for you!

Re: Stressed out over copay
Okay so no one will help me witht he phone bill that went in to collections. I was transferred to 10 different people but no one could tell me why a bill that is no longer in my name is still in my name. I talked to a friend who said that my credit shouldn't be too damaged from it and I am just going to pay it.
My DME will let me make monthly payments to keep my machine. My goal is to do that while looking in to getting my own machine to buy outright. I am using my bonus to pay my medical bills, as well as any gift cards I get as gifts from my students to be used to paying off medical bills- my Mom can buy them from me and I can do it that way. I also got offered a babysitting gig after work next week. So hopefully these baby steps will help me pay these bills off sooner so that I can save up for a BiPap machine.

Good for you! you've got a plan in place, and are taking those baby steps. It's all baby steps.
One other thought, do you have access to free legal aid, or debt counseling? Perhaps they have some other ideas to help deal with your legal/financial issues.

Re: Stressed out over copay
You might want to check with the womens shelters in your area for help with the legal and financial aspects. I know you are staying at your parents so you don't need their other services but they do have counselors to help with those aspects or will be able to refer you to people who can help you. After you are back on your feet you can give back in time or money.
You don't have to do this alone. (keep repeating this to your self)
The longer you are on cpap the better you will be able to cope too.

That is a REALLY good point, BlackSpinner! Treating your sleep apnea is going to make everything easier to deal with, Jaylee.BlackSpinner wrote:The longer you are on cpap the better you will be able to cope too.
In addition to legal and financial guidance, the women's shelters/organizations can provide counselling. I'm sure you've been through quite a bit of difficulty in your abusive marriage, and counselling may help you to move on and gain confidence as you build your new life. It does sometimes help to have objective guidance through such transitions. And it will also help to gain some insight into why you chose to be with someone who would take away from the wonderful person you are, so you can heal, break the cycle and not fall into the same pattern again. I have a feeling you're going to do really well, Jaylee. You have a good attitude.
I hope things work out with the BiPAP. You've had some good suggestions on this thread. Start keeping your eyes open for good deals, because they are out there.
