Best Mask for Side Sleepers?

Dear Folks,

I am enjoying my Comfort Curve. It's comfortable and pretty quiet too. It's not that good for side sleeping, though. I got mediocre but usable results from my old Comfort Classic, but I think there must be something better. I bought my mattress based on how well it works for side sleeping. Now I want a mask that will work well that way, too.

What say you sleepers? What is your favorite mask for side sleeping?

I own these masks:

Activa
Ultra Mirage
Swift
Breeze

For me it's the Breeze hands down for not feeling the unit at all when it is on and I am on my side or stomach.

I have a pulley system for my hose so that it is never in my way and prevents tugging that can reposition the Breeze mask.

I have not tried the Aura , but many who have, like it too for side sleeping.

The Activa has a lot of give for a nasal mask, but I am too attached to my Breeze.

I HIGHLY recommend the Breeze. I don't see how side-sleepers can sleep with anything else.

I have Activa, Swift, and Aura. The Aura wins, with the Swift second on my scorecard. I can barely tell I am wearing the Aura no matter what position I sleep in.

I vote for the aura also...it can't be beat for side sleepers

I use the Hans Rudolph Full FAce mask and I am a side sleeper myself.

I get the hose in a nice comfy spot and off to sleep I go until nature calls and then I am up the rest of the night.

For now its the activa for me, my swift leaks to much. I will be trying the Breeze or Aura next, but the activa is pretty good

The Breeze has become my all-time favorite for side sleeping and producing minimal air leaks--which only happens when I end up on my back momentarily when turning and switching sides. My Aura is the most comfortable of the two, but causes more disturbance of my sleep with springing air leaks when my machine increases the pressure through the night.

I've recently been using a DreamFit. It works great, giving me AHIs of under 1 on a regular basis. I sleep on both sides (one side at a time, of course!! ) and have my hose draped over the head of my bed.

Looks like you've got choices by the bunch for a new mask, no?

This therapy WORKS!!! (but making the right choice can be confusing and making the wrong choice can be expensive)

I only sleep on my side, and I've had a heck of a time finding the right mask.

In the past several months, I've cycled through the Breeze, Swift, Aura, ComfortCurve, the Infinity and most recently the SomnoPlus. (Needless to say my wife is growing weary of my seeming mask of the month club!)

Of all of them, I've found the SomnoPlus to be the BEST on a variety of fronts. I can sleep on my side, the seal doesn't break, and it's virtually silent.

As for the others, I hated the ComfortCurve--Gee, it looks nice; but they vastly overstate its effectiveness for side sleepers.

At first I loved the Aura; but I could never get a very good seal, and found myself trying to adjust it all night long. I was equally in love with my Infinity; but I could never get the rubber strap to stay tight.

Breeze and Swift, well, they just never worked very well for me.

My side-sleeping ranking:
1. SomnoPlus (Very happy)
2. Infinity (lack of thick straps make this a winner)
3. Aura (I had such high hopes; but after a few weeks, it just was no good.
4. Swift
5. Breeze (I could never keep it on my head)
376. ComfortCurve (I'm still waiting for an apology from Respironics for boldly claiming it was good for side-sleeping)

Finally, let me say that SomnoPlus is the first mask I've used in three years that I do not pull off in the middle of the night. I am very happy with it.

I may be the "odd man out" here (again), but I like my Ultra Mirage FF. (Even though it's the only one I've ever used.....except in my sleep study....I believe that one was a ComfortFull).
I don't have to worry about it tearing up my nose, mouth breathing, mouth leaks, chin straps, taping my mouth shut, KY jelly, and all the other tortures that all the nasal mask users seem to go through. I just get a good night's sleep.....on whatever side I'm sleeping on.
