SPO 7500 PulseOX and de-sat report help
Hi All,
Recently diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and awaiting my CPAP machine, very anxiously! In the meatime, i bought an SPO 7500 Pulse OX and have been monitoring my O2 levels for the last few days for 2 reasons.... 1: so i can simply be alarmed at how often i stop breathing and how often the levels plummit (insert laughter), and more importantly, reason 2, so I can get a good handle on how well my o2 levels improve with Cpap and to monitor how well my cpap therapy is working for me going foward.
My questions are about the reports provided with the software for the 7500. The Desaturation report for example lists, or seems to list a max of 32 events at the bottom of the page. the other night for example i de-saturated 114 times according to the summary but it will only list details on the desaturation report for the first 32 events. i love the desaturation report's event summary (the 32 items) becuase it tells me exactly what i want to know at a glance without having to open the report and look through the entire night manually, where all events show up.
Anybody else have or know how to solve this problem? how do i get all events, 114 events in this case, to show up on the desaturation report? Possible?
Thanks so much for any and all advice. great to be here with you all.
Pat

Re: SPO 7500 PulseOX and de-sat report help
FYI: I got a hold of the company and they said the max is 32. There is no way to change it. So i thought i'd share so it is documented in case anyone does a search on this topic later.

Pat,
I've forgotten how to get the full report of ALL the desaturation events from the Vitabase software ... but it is available in the Vitascore portion of the software. It will list ALL ... beyond the 32 on the Vitabase data.
Unfortunately. the SPO people are not as knowledgable as they should be.
I'd suggest that you PM ozji and ask ... she had come across the information ... I didn't write down how she did it, so I'm not able to pass it on to you (or look it up myself).
In fact, I'd like to know again ... this time I'll save the info.
Regards,
Jan

Pat............
Although I can't answer your question......I applaud your attitude and determination to learn as much as possible about your condition.
You are going about the task in exactly the correct manner.
You've figured out....probably instinctively....that "we can't manage what we can't measure".
Once you get your data capable CPAP machine....with software.....you'll put the reports side by side....and see a much better picture of your condition.
You'll then tweak and tune your system so that it's most comfortable and most effective....at the same time.

Graham,
Thank you for posting the information. I had completely forgotten the path to show the data!
It is now printed for posterity!
I'd commented about the factory rep not being knowledgable in providing the correct answer to Pat ... in fairness, SPO Customer Service will answer all of your questions about the unit itself, but since the software is provided by a 3rd party (Temec - located in the Nertherlands)... SPO essentially doesn't provide support for Vitascore/Vitabase.
Months ago, my husband was told that by a gal who was purported to be their lead Customer Support person on the SPO7500.

I've been offline for a while. This Christmas thing just snuck up on me....i need to get stuff done! lol. anyway, its great to see that there is a way to get this info. Thanks so much for your help everyone!
Thanks also Gerald. Yeah, I can't imagine going through this and waking up each day, feeling good one day, and bad the next, and having absolutely no idea as to what happened during the night and why. Gotta have that data!

Re: SPO 7500 PulseOX and de-sat report help
I have an SPO also. Bought it after I began CPAP. I'd say that if you have more than 32 desaturations, then what does it matter? You know things are very bad. I had 80+ on my sleep study and have used the SPO several times since beginning CPAP and have shown zero desats. If I had shown any, I would have been alarmed.
Re: SPO 7500 PulseOX and de-sat report help
Vitascore lets you know when the desaturations happened, how long and deep they were, and you can see how you heartbeat behaved durin that time.
A right click on a specific desat in the even viewer will give you precise details about it.
