Tips for Quattro leaks?

The biggest thing that I have found with the Quattro is you have to be religious about keeping the cushion clean. I wear it my self and I tell all of my patients the same thing. Keep the cushion clean and as free of skin oils as possible. I wash my mask cushion every night before going to bed. I use Dawn Direct Foam dish soap and hot water. Depending on how oily your skin is will determine how often you have to wash it.

The other thing is replace the cushion often. If you are going thru an insurance company for payment, you are eligible for a new cushion as often as once a month. I replace mine about every 6-8 weeks.

If you want to try and extend the life of your cushion, wash it with hot soapy water. Then put it in a pot of boiling water for 10 min. or so. Remove and wash again in hot soapy water. I have three cushions that I rotate nightly...

I had and "AHA!" moment last night. I was fussing with the headgear and figured out that slipping the bottom strap up higher on my head (actually across my ears) cinched the bottom of the mask down tight and made a perfect seal (especially over my beard).

This held until about 3:30, which was pretty good (compared to previous nights). I couldn't adjust the strap back to the same position.

I guess I'll have my eyebrows pierced so I can rig a line over the top of my head to support that strap.

I thought the Quattro was designed to kind of hold your mouth shut some. Anyone know if that is correct?

The Quattro (and most FF masks) are designed for people that breath or leak air through their mouth. They are not designed to keep your mouth shut. You need a chinstrap for that.

Ok, I was mistaken or should I say mixed up on my info. The quattro is designed to accomodate jaw drop during sleep, I think it was the original Hans Rudolph that I tried had a cup for the chin to prevent jaw drop. Of course I can't find the info on that old mask online or in my paperwork.
