Downloaded the ResMed software but the drivers won't install
Downloaded the ResMed software but the drivers won't install
I downloaded the ResMed software onto my new laptop computer and although the software downloaded the driver would not install. I bought the USB adapter and when I plug it in, it also attempts to install the driver. The software cannot find the find the machine that has the data. This is so frustrating! I worked and fussed on it for 2 hours last night. I even uninstalled the software and downloaded it again twice. Everything works but I cannot get the driver installed. Anyone have any advice?

What operating system? What Resmed software did you download?
If running EncorePro 1.8.x, for Vista, you are looking for the file 2800_2KXP.INF located in EncorePro/Smart Card Readers/Vista Drivers. Did you run the setup.exe out of the Smart Card folder?

She's talking about ResScan for ResMed machines, not Encore for Respironics...
luv2sleep, I recently installed ResScan 3.7 on a Windows 7 netbook and it went perfectly. I also use the USB adapter and it works like a charm. What version of Windows are you trying to install on?

Windows Vista Home. The instructions said you had to have Windows 2000, XP or Windows Business Vista. I have the home version. I guess I could get my Windows 7 upgrade and try it then.falvesjr wrote:She's talking about ResScan for ResMed machines, not Encore for Respironics...

Re: Downloaded the ResMed software but the drivers won't install
I just had this same problem this morning, but I have XP.
There is a little pamphlet in the box that the card reader comes in that tells you where to go to update the driver (I am not a big PC person so I can't remember exactly and the PC is not here with me). It was something like control panel> system> hardware> drivers> smartcard readers >then you will see the smartcard reader and click on it and there is a place to search for driver updates. I'm sure I missed something in the chain of windows directions
Let me know if you think this might be your problem and I will go find the pamphlet and give you the exact windows commands.

I just realized you are using the USB cable - but I'm sure the windows commands are the same to get to where to update the driver.
Re: Downloaded the ResMed software but the drivers won't install
Vista has always had problems with drivers, so if you're thinking about upgrading to W7, now might be a good time!
Just so you know, I'm using it with W7 "Starter", which is the lowliest version, and I didn't upgrade the driver either. The one that installs with ResScan 3.7 works fine.
Keep us updated!

Re: Downloaded the ResMed software but the drivers won't install
Well, I have tried everything that I know how to do and tried to find the drivers by going through the control panel, system, etc. It just never downloaded and I don't know why. I ordered my Windows7 but it won't be here for a while.
