I'm wondering if you've had your thyroid checked (TSH, free T3, free T4, thyroid antibodies). The throat symptoms sound like those of low thyroid (soreness, pressure, hoarseness)...esp because the acid inhibitors did nothing.

Heh. Thyroid's totally under control. I've had Hashimoto's for years; recently tried adding t3 to my t4. Unsure it's made any difference, but this stomach thing started a year ago. I've pondered whether Naturethroid or something like that might make a difference, but haven't tried that yet.

I just started levothyroxine 7 wks ago which I have to fail before doc will let me try one of the naturals. So far no change but at 25 mcg, it's probably not enough to make a difference. Upped my coconut to help T4-->T3 conversion. So far, no antibodies.

Try a full face

Post by Arizona-Willie » Tue Nov 24, 2009 12:49 pm

In one of your posts you talk about air leaking from your mouth and pressure building up in your mouth.

You might consider trying a Quattro full face mask. Then you wouldn't have to worry about holding the pressure in.
You can breathe either through your nose or your mouth. No need to hold air in your mouth.

Much more natural than a nasal mask.

Many Quattro users would fight anyone who tried to take their mask away

I tried the Hybrid and some nasal masks before finding the Quattro.
You'll find many lines of discussion on the Quattro here.
But it solves many peoples problem.

thx Az. Yeah that's true. Except that I hate having to breathe through my mouth if I don't have to. Now, tho, I don't have any machine anymore since they took it back. Hrm.

Oooooh! Too bad you weren't able to get your hands on a copy of that script when you did have the CPAP. *sigh*

What about your family doctor? Would he/she be willing to script a CPAP for you? An APAP if you go thru insurnace and a local DME provider or a CPAP if you go out of pocket w/an online DME provider. (W/the latter you have the choice w/no hassles to buy either a straight CPAP or an APAP. W/the former you would probably have to fight tooth and nail to get an APAP).

Regardless, I'd request my entire medical record from this sleep doctor INCLUDING specifically mentioning the full scored data summary report w/condensed graphs and then put this sleep doctor on the scrap pile and either work w/my family doctor if willing or find a new sleep doctor who is no where near so closed-minded and unyielding.

Post was resurrected by spammer. Why they go into the old archives to find them is beyond my comprehension but 9 times out of 10 when I see an old post resurrected it will be from spam gibberish.

Slinky you aren't the only one who doesn't notice the dates. No big deal.
For some reason sometimes when the spam is deleted the post doesn't fall back into the archives.
Most of the time when I have spam deleted something I will see it disappear off the page but sometimes it doesn't. So it is stuck. This one...I didn't spam delete it but someone did and when I click on post a reply I can still see it which is common sometimes (to be able to see what was spam deleted).

Don't sweat the small stuff, Pugsy. I didn't feel chastised. Just frustrated that I get "caught" every time some rat fink does this and its a subject title that catches my interest. You'd think I would learn after a while ..... ah well.
