LUNGS PROBLEM USING CPAPMACHINE?????
LUNGS PROBLEM USING CPAPMACHINE?????
I use acpap machine for almost one year. i was enjoying my sleep, until yesterday, when the x-ray- doctor, looking at my lung-x-ray, he found out that my lungs are full of air, which means that when i breath alot of air goes into my lungs, but less air comes out of them, so there is an exccess of CO2 in my blood. I will check it further, but i would like to know, did it happened to any of you using cpap???thnak you in advance!!!

That's not really a diagnosis according to the Mayo Clinic (http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/hyperi ... gs/AN00684) but could be a sign of lung disease. It could also be nothing. Do you have any other breathing issues other than Sleep Disordered Breathing?

NOW IT SEEMS TO HAVE SOME AIR WHCH IS NOT GOOD. I WILL DO FURTHER EXAMINATIONS TO FIND OUT. BUT LOOKING IN THE WEB RELATIVE SITES, IT SEEMS LOGICAL FOR ME TO BLAIM MY MACHINE, BECAUSE IT SENTS AIR WITH A PRESSURE OF 9 INTO MY LUNGS, BUT IT DOES NOT HELPS TO GET IT OUT ALSO!!!. I AM NOT SURE IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. THANK YOU ANYWAY.

Did your doctor specifically say it was bad? Does your doctor think you have some other issue because of it? Are you having trouble breathing?

DPAP, 9 is on the low side of CPAP pressure. Please research fully before blaming CPAP therapy. Oh, please keep us posted about your progress, so all of us can learn. Welcome aboard!

Re: LUNGS PROBLEM USING CPAPMACHINE?????
Dpap - every mask has a vent for CO2 to go out when you exhale (the little place with very little holes). Is it possible your vent was covered by bed sheets without your realizing it, for a long time, or by you, not liking the air blowing out or anything else like that? The vent must always be open, so the CO2 goes out and not back into your lungs. I'm sure you probably know this, but sometimes people don't because no one ever explained it to them.

- dpap that is very importantJulie wrote:Is it possible your vent was covered by bed sheets
What about some exercise early in the morning to get rid of that air

Hi. My lungs have shown air in them for about as long as I have been on cpap, but I have had respiratory issues for many years after a bad chemical exposure, so I'm guessing mine is a progression of old issues that finally got bad enough to be apparent in x-rays. I am diagnosed with interstitial lung disease. Now, maybe I'm guessing wrong about cpap not being related - maybe my lungs couldn't handle the extra air. Next time I see my pulmonologist I think I'll ask him. Let us know what happens as your doctor follows this.

Re: LUNGS PROBLEM USING CPAPMACHINE?????
Okey, i have good news!!! I visited a special Lung-Doctor who is a professor. He looked at my X-ray and he tolled me that there is not any problem with my lungs and he was upset with the x-ray doctor who told me that there is a lot of air inside my lungs!!! This story started because i had a throat pain and cough for almost 2 weeks. I visited a general physician who sent me to get a lung-X-ray. It was that X-ray-Doctor who, according to the specalist Lung-Doctor, made a wrong diagnosis. I never had any lung problem and i was concerned very much. The Professor said that the c-pap machine does not cause such over-air-problem to the lungs. He advised me to continue to use my c-pap machine and to use the humidifier that it is self-contained, to keep my throat wet. He said that i was suffered by an allergic pharyngitis, he gave me some pharmaceutic therapy and i feel better anyway. I thank you all who answered to my question. Best wishes to all of you and keep using your c-pap machines to enjoy your sleep. Many thanks again!!!! Take care!!!tattooyu wrote:Did your doctor specifically say it was bad? I am glad everything is cleared up.
One can actually learn to use more of your lung capacity by practicing yoga breathing exercises. Most adults breath very shallowly and have forgotten how to breath deeply using the diaphragm.
