Heated Humidifier Working?

Post by Jere » Wed Sep 28, 2005 9:47 pm

I waited 6 weeks for the heated humidifier that fits on my ResMed Escape 8 (it does look nice). I have used the humidifier two nights and I am not sure that the water is being heated. The water level does decrease significantly. BUT, how warm should the water be? My idiot DMS failed to provide a RT to give me instructions or tell me what to expect and the manual is useless. Anyway, how do I know if the heat is actually working?

THANKS!

should be a little light that flashes on and off to indicate it working. It should go through a lot of water in eight hours. Also, if it goes through more water as you turn up the heat, it's safe to assume it's working.

1) If you wake up with the tune "Raindrops keep falling on my head ..." on your mind, then the h/h is surely working - too well - turn it down a little.

2) If the chamber is low or empty next day (as for 1)

3) If you feel the air was good and you got no spray-in-the-face / no gurgling in the tube - then perhaps it worked

4) If the water level doesn't move & the h/h control was set high (fully clockwise) - send it back - it don't work

Cheers

I took everyone's advice and I am confident the thing is working.

No raindrops (yet), but there is a light fog in the water chamber. I'll keep my out for any tropical systems that may form.

Thanks all!

Thanks DSM for the list. As a new user who also thought my humidifier wasn't working, I found it useful for finding my problem.
