Need new machine - Crack water chamber + OLD

Post by tbone106 » Thu Nov 12, 2009 10:59 pm

I'm thinking i need to start thinking about replacing my 5+ year old cpap machine. It's a remstar bipap pro 2 with bi-flex, headed humidifier ( i reccently discovered that the water chamber is cracked).

first off, Can i purchase just a water chamber - i'm thinking i could get additional milage out of this unit ( as nothing else is really wrong, other than the number of hours )

I looked for the machine and it is no longer sold and the replacement is $800 (wow!). I don't trust buying one from auction, as I've been told in the past, "never smoked in, no pets --- only to find stinky, pets hair laden items -- which throw my allergies for a HUGE loop!"

Anyway, I don't need the bipap or biflex, I'd like changing presures via the card and need the humidifier!

Suggestions????

$19.99 from our host.

EDIT: Are you SURE it's cracked? Where is/are the crack(s)? Is it leaking? There are some fine lines in the chamber that APPEAR to be cracks, but they're probably from the mold when they were made. There are about 2 or 3 of them and are in the area of the air intake portion. One runs at an angle downward to the bottom on the right side (as you look at it from the front) and another is behind the chamber in that area. If those are what you're looking at, they're not "cracks".

Yes, it's cracked -- must have happen during my last trip....

Any recommendations on a replacement unit that won't break the bank?

I'm sorry, for a complete cpap machine replacement, not just the water chamber...

How often do you need to change the pressure?

Check https://www.cpap.com for your machine replacement.

I change the presure once or twice a year. I like the data capability of the current unit, but only use it once or twice a year.
