I just started using a Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillow mask. I was using an Activa. The Mirage seems a lot less intrusive on my face. However, I find the Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillow to be noisy. I'm wondering if I'm using it right. It seems like a lot of air blows out of the pressure relief holes under my nose. Does everyone find these masks noisy? Is there a nasal pillow mask that itsn't so noise?
It's weird because the manufacturer advertises this mask as being so quiet. It's really the sound of the air coming out of the holes in the mask under my nose. Suggestions??
Thanks for your help.

Re: Mirage Swift II Nasal Pillow Noisy?
I didn't get an answer so I thought I'd try again. The manufacturer advertises how quiet the Swift Nasal pillow II is. However, mine seems to be very noisey, like maybe 10 times noiser than my Activa nasal mask. Does anyone else use this Swift Nasal Pillow mask? Is it noisey for you? Maybe I'm not using it right. I just hear air rushing through the nasal pillows and out the exhaust. Can someone shed some light on this irritating problem?
Thanks

My only though is - are you using the correct size pillows for you? I have the SwiftLT and thought the medium would be best but, oh- the noise! I switched to the small pillows and now it is very quiet.
May work for you!

I used the Swift LT, and it makes the most noise of any of the dozen or so masks that I have tried so far. In my case, I find the comfort worth the noise.

I have this mask too and don't hear the noise you are talking about. I have the small pillows attached to it. I'd advise playing with the different sizes too until you get a good seal. Also try angling (rotating) it til it feels comfortable in your nostrils. Sometimes I have to fiddle with mine til it feels juuuuuusssst right!
cpap since 10/09, pressure 9.0, epr 3, ramp NONE!

Hello--I have the SWIFT LT for her--but I used to try the one that you have and it was noisy! But if you want to try the LT ----try angling (rotating) it until it feels comfortable in your nostrils like the previous poster said. Sometimes I have to fiddle with mine and pull it off and place it back on to make it seal just right! It is well worth it since it is SOOOOOOO comfy!!! Don't give up! It all depends on your pressure too--I am only at a 7 so if you are higher thann that --it might get nosier.
