What C-Flex setting?

Post by carolaz » Tue Nov 10, 2009 6:52 pm

I ordered my M Series Pro machine from our host site and got it today! Finally I can start tracking my nightly data!
Should I enable C-Flex even though it was not prescribed for me? They set it for my prescribed pressure of 9 and C-Flex setting of 2. Should I keep it that way?

If you are just starting this journey I see no reason not to use C-Flex. It is a comfort setting that relaxes the pressure on exhale. A lot of folks that have been on the hose for a while can tolerate not using it and feel that their therapy is a little better and as a slightly lower overall pressure. At first you need all the help you can get. My sleep lab started me out at C-Flex of 3 (Max relief). I still use it but I have lowered it to 1 because I don't notice the pressure any more.

As long as your pressure is fairly high C-Flex should help. If you are on a very low pressure you might want to lower it or turn it off because with it at a very low pressure you might feel like you are not getting enough air.

Be glad you have the settings and the machine you do. My first machine didn't have c-flex it was set at 20cm. I lived with that for a year.
I would not change anything for the time being. Good Luck

I've used the setting of "2" ever since I started therapy. To me, it feels like "natural" breathing.
