Clever the way the doctor managed to combine his hobby with his research

Wow, there are some serious golfers there.

"Providers typically attempt to maximise compliance with NPAP by promoting its medical benefits or warning patients of the risks involved in not being treated, but this approach does not always work," said Benton. "In the case of this study, the possibility of improving one's ability to play golf appears to have been a significant motivation to improve treatment compliance

I'm really curious about this: How did it go? Maybe something like this:

researcher: "You know, sleep apnea is serious and will probably kill you if you don't treat it." It will likeky be an early death.
patient: "Oh well, we all have to die sometime. It's part of life."
researcher: "Also, its been shown to shave 3 or 4 points off your golf score."
patient: " Really? wow! Why didn't you say so sooner. Where do I get a cpap machine?"

Now, I duffed a ball or two here and there, but nothing like that. Those are seriously addicted golfers.
