I'm on the fourth day I think, yesterday my brain felt a bit fiery or something, and at the end of the day I had a headache, not terrible though. I had had a short night of sleep, and I'd had two servings of caffeine so I'm not sure if it was the med. I think perhaps I was not as fatigued during the day. Avoiding caffeine today to see if that makes a difference. Brain feels a little weird still though.
Toff,
I read that caffeine should not be consumed while on nuvigil, check the paperwork you got with that med. BTW, nuvigil is given to fighter pilots on long missions and it's also in the space lab.

Toff, complaining of fatigue to the psychiatrist got you to the sleep study -- and they did find sleep apnea apparently. However, you may have been starting something else as well, which caused your complaint to start with.

1. Make sure you have all the necessary checkups necessary to exclude other reasons for you fatigue.
2. What is the percent of time you spend in Large Leak? Excessive leaks keep the machine from doing it job.

This is what I had read "Avoid drinking large amounts of beverages containing caffeine (e.g., coffee, tea, certain soft drinks). Caffeine can increase the side effects of this medication."

Past two days I haven't had any coffee or soda, and felt a bit better, although I did have some chocolate.

I had seen my regular doctor. As I mentioned (maybe not?), I am being treated for depression, which can also cause fatigue, and they're looking at the possibility of polycythemia, which can also cause fatigue. Not sure what other causes of fatigue I could have.

Percent in large leak was pretty small, the EN&T doctor was very happy with the results on paper.

Hey OP, you said you were napping frequently - you do nap WITH your cpap, right? You didn't say, so...just checking.

Toff, just out of curiosity, when you take a nap and generate your Encore Report, do you have a high AHI? I'm talking like a hour nap or so??

I get a bunch of Apnea, clustered all together after the first 20 minutes. AHI might be 24 or above, with the Mask on of course.

One of posters, Julie, felt that the algorithms don't work in that short of time??!!

Just an aside

Thanks,

SG
