Resmed Software

Post by dream-warriors » Thu Oct 29, 2009 9:31 am

Hello,

Just had my second sleep study last night, and ordered my Resmed S8 Autoset II from CPAP.COM. The question I have is that they don't offer the Resmed 3.7 software to purchase. I saw a couple on Ebay, is this original software from the manufacture? Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com/RESMED-ResScan-3-7- ... 4cebac727c

If this is not a good source to purchase from, where is.

Thanks so much,
Greg

These are likely copies that someone has made either from a purchased cd or a pirated copy. A copy of a copy maybe. Pirated software........ No way to know for sure if whoever copied it is safe source. Use of pirated software?.....Your choice along with the risks.

The only legitimate place that US users can get the software is from an Australian source.

If I remember correctly, ResMed recently prohibited sales of the ResScan software to all patients (end users) in the United States. You won't find it being sold anywhere other than an auction most likely. That seller does have 100% positive feedback, but you always take your chances when buying in an auction. Just be prepared to lose that amount of money in case it falls through.

Oh, and you're also going to need a data card and card reader, unless you plug your APAP directly into the computer via a cable (don't remember what kind).

Thanks Pugsy,

That's what I needed to know. I ordered it from the Australian website.

To clarify: I believe that Resmed has only limited their software sales to US patients to remain in compliance w/FDA rules and regulations. If your doctor scripts the software and cable reader it then becomes a matter of whether your local DME supplier will honor that prescription. Resmed is an Australian company that has somewhat recently moved their headquaters to the USA and are trying to comply w/all FDA regulations as their attorneys recommend.

Will this software work for my Resmed VPAP Auto 25? I was thinking of ordering it too. I don't have a followup appointment with my sleep doc for a month and a half and I was told I would need to mail my datacard in to the DME so they can print out a report to send to the doctor. Hopefully by then, I will be up and running with the software so I can just pull the info myself!

Yes, the ResScan 3.7 software will work.

Don't forget you will need the card reader also. Check web for best price or consider the Australian bundle.

You can pay for a legal copy by buying it from a non pirate living in Australia.

You can pay for an identical copy on eBay from a pirate living in USA.

You can get a free identical copy from a pirate living in a pirate bay... on http://thepiratebay.org/search/ResScan

Pirate or not pirate or to pay or not pay that is the question!
