I have a stuffy nose

Post by Lila919 » Wed Oct 21, 2009 9:14 pm

Along with sneezes and a sore throat & I have been mouth-breathing all day long. I am worried about sleeping tonight because I only have a nasal mask. I plan to do a nasal wash and take some Sudafed & hope for the best. Anyone have good ideas about this?

Afrin! Don't use it for more than 3-5 nights but it usually works wonders for me!

Is AFRIN a spray? I will try some tomorrow - too late & cold to go out tonight.

Afrin is an amazing drug but only use it for a few nights. Get a nice full mask as a back up. Also try the whole netipot thing.

When I'm stuffed up, It helps me if I sleep propped up with a couple of pillows.

Ayr Nasal Gel can help as well.

I made it thru the night surprisingly well - I did the nasal wash, Ayrs gel, decongestant, and an extra pillow. On my todo list - get some Afrin and a full face mask. Thanks for your thoughts!

It's good you managed the night. I have the flu with mega congestion & tornadic coughing winds, I initially wasn't sure I wanted a mask over my face because of how lousy I feel and already obstructed breathing........My MQFF mask is impressive during this unpleasant time. When my coughing awakes me, I secure my mask with my hand and cough and go back to sleep. It's almost APAP as usual. I'm somewhat surprised at the ability to use any mask with the horrific nasal and chest congestion. So, I think a FF mask may be a good investment. You might want to check cpapaution for a back up FF mask.

Hope you are soon well.
