Liberty leaks on face

Post by kbobtn » Wed Oct 21, 2009 11:18 am

I have been using a Mirage Liberty mask for a couple of weeks after changing from a Quattro. I find it much more comfortable and quieter, but I have been getting leaks after 3-5 hours. Most of the posts I have found here have to do with leaks at the pillows, but I don't seem to have that issue. I am getting leaks and "face farts" around the top curve on my upper lip. Has anyone else experienced this? Any suggestions? I have tried tighter and looser, but still have issues.

Thanks

Same problem here. My solution is just to tighten the straps. Seems to work for me.

Same story, was told the Quatro was teh best but got sores/cuts on the bridge of my nose.

So far the Liberty works the best for me withe Resmed S8 Autoset II.

What size mask did they give you? The wrong size mask might make the difference. Have you been to Resmed's website and looked at the fitting template for the Liberty. The doctor gave a small face one which works fine for me. The only initial problem was the medium sized plugs which leaked on me, had to use larger size. Last night, mine starting leaking at the base of the elbow on the plastic. Put some hospital tape which made it quieter. On my doctor's follow-up, today, I got them to replace the plastic bits to see if that stops my nose.

It is a really good mask and a lot more comfortable than the Quattro.
