I do have a TV in the bedroom, and plead guilty to watching it. However, I do put on my mask, in case I do fall asleep. Works like a charm, as I set the sleep timer on the TV, lest I fall asleep. It can be relaxing.

PS I can do it in 8 seconds, and I don't have a TV in the bedroom.

Can't all males?!!
NOW, that is funny!

Never watch TV in bed. Not even a TV in the bedroom. Bedrooms are for sleeping and well..................

I don't watch my TV in bed exactly. I turn in on with a sleep timer set for 60 minutes. Listening to TV
keeps me from hearing any "voices" in my head. lol

I think Helen has a serious point here, even with the LOL. No TV in the bedroom is one of those bits of received wisdom that we see repeated all the time simply because it's been repeated often enough that no one leaves it out of their ten tips to better sleep. But is there really research to back that up? Or is it like the constant reminders to drink eight glasses of water a day. Nothing but a myth everyone believes because they've heard it all their lives. One good thing about getting old is that you can remember similar truths that no one believes any more. Remember salt pills? Remember (sorry ladies, you'll have to substitute something else here) when it was unthinkable to exercise without an athletic supporter?

As for Helen's argument, I think television can actually be a good analgesic and anxiolytic. I'm actually quite disciplined about turning off the tube, masking up, putting out the light, and going to sleep. But there are nights when you know you will lie awake and fret because of bad thoughts running around and around in your head. Some of us have these occasionally, some constantly, but but everyone's had their sleep ruined by anxiety. Television can be just enough of a distraction to keep the inner voice at bay. And it can distract from pain as well. I think there's a good reason hospital rooms have televisions. They provide a little relief from both the pain and the anxiety of illness. So to heck with the conventional wisdom. I'm keeping my TV.

I own one tv - and it is in the living room. As is the stereo, computer, etc. The only electronica that makes it to the bedroom are phones.

I usually read for anywhere from 10 - 30 minutes before going to sleep.

No TV in the bedroom. Can't see any point in it.

Computer, TV, all up front.

We were staying with a friend, and the son had a TV and a radio on all night. Drove me absolutely crazy. I can't imagine sleeping with that kind of racket actually in the room.

I read for 15-30 minutes before I mask up and turn the light out. Mornings.... hmm, well. That's nobody's business except ours.

What about a "bed in the TV room" poll?

I HATE the TV in the bedroom. Thing is my wife, or as I call her, my girlfriend of the last 41 years, CANNOT sleep without it. I've suggested that I take up sleeping in the guest room, but that suggestion was received coldly.

I do watch some TV (in the living room), and when I do I'm paying attention to it, while to her it's just so much background noise. I wouldn't mind some quiet music at sleep time, but she tells me that that's 'creepy' for her.

I usually doze in the recliner, or get involved in a computer project until she's asleep and then I ascend to the bedroom... not that that's any relief; SHE SNORES!

I do have a tv in the bedroom, but I use it mostly for audio background noise when I'm going to sleep. I get lousy radio reception here in the mountains, so I tune the tv to a mellow XM satellite radio station at low volume (just enough to be heard over my machinery) and set the timer for 15 or 30 minutes. Within a minute, the tv screen goes black, and I'm off to sleep before the timer expires.

We DO have a TV in the bedroom... but I can't remember the last time it was turned on. There's also a radio as well, but used mostly as an alarm than anything else. Although, these days all it takes is a little sunlight to filter into the bedroom to jolt me awake...

I have a TV but it doesn't work. I just leave it there so the cockroaches have a place to go when I'm sleeping.
Ocassionally I here a pop when one touches something it shouldn't have. . Just keep a small jar lid of water inside . When they crawel out of the water, ZAPP. And it doesn't use much electricity.

It works better than the RIDDXX but repeller. That only kills them if you throw it at them or smash them with it.
