SleepWeaver cloth mask Trial

Post by swtsassy65 » Fri Oct 09, 2009 4:45 pm

Hello Everyone,
I got a call from the people at Circadiance this am about their New SleepWeaver mask. It seems they are coming out with a new version and asked me to test
it for them.
As some of you know I did test this mask out a year ago. It will be interesting to try this and compare to the "old" mask. Which I do happen to have somwhere around here.
I was told the new style has a more comfortable and easier to use head gear and the mask itself is smaller. I will be getting it sometime in the next week and will give an review if anyone is interested.

Did anyone else get a call from them? Any of the old testers?

Here is a link to the old reviews from a year ago:

I got a call six weeks ago, asking me if I would participate in the trial. I thought it would be great to trial it while I was off work for three weeks recovering from surgery. The mask hasn't showed up yet, even though she said she would "get it right out." I hope they have improved the new version. There was no way that the old version would ever seal on my face.

Hello
I received the new prototype yesterday. I used it for 7 hours and I like it. It is smaller than the original. Had no problems with leaks. Since I am a grave shift worker. I cleaned it and then my mom used it last night. She likes it too. She has only been on CPap for two weeks and we have been having trouble finding her a mask that she likes. So far she has tried resmed swift lite for her - she hated it. Then she tried the fisher paykel 407 - did not like that. I tried the cloth mask on her but the shape of her face had trouble with leaks. The past two weeks I was lucky to get her to use her masks for two hours. This mask is smaller and fits the shape of her face a lot better. She said she did not have any leaks and used it for 5 hours. That is really good for her she usuallly does not sleep that long. Otherwise the mask looks the same but smaller. The head ban is a little sturdier than the original mask that I received in Jun.

Hi Everyone,

I got my new Sleepweaver mask today and tried it out by taking a nap wit it. I must say I really like it.
it is smaller and seems to fit the face better. Also the headgear is more sturdy then the old one.
There is an extra strap in the back that helps anchor it allot better thus, the better fit.
It also has allot less Velcro then the old one.
I am gonna try it tonight and see how it goes. I have to find out how it works with my Papcap.
I will say a big improvement is it seems to handle my high pressure better then the old one did.
The old would work but I had a hard time and had to keep adjusting it for leaks after a few hours.
This one I took out of the box, put it on and did a few adjustments and took my nap no problem.
I remember the old one was a chore to get in the right position.
Well more tomorrow.

Sassy

I tried the prototype and it worked for me. My husband tried it HATED IT and he likes the original one. The smaller version did not work at all for him. I think it is more for a smaller female face. I gave the mask to my mom and she loves it. This is the only mask that works for her and she has been sleeping with it for about 5 - 7 hours a night. This is amazing she normally only sleeps 2-3 hours at a time. She is 75 years old and just has trouble sleeping. I was really happy that they let me try the prototype. Otherwise she would not be compliant with medicare, and she would probably have to buy her own machine after her month of monitoring. Thats my update I hope it helps someone.
