Just wanted to wish everyone a fabulous Thanksgiving weekend. Any plans?
We are looking forward to driving up north, enjoying the colours and fall air at the cottage. Planning a little reunion with our family's dearest friends.
We spent every holiday together growing up. Now that we (the children) are grown and with our own families it's been hard to do. Not this year. We are celebrating my parents 46th anniversary, our friends 45th anniversary, and all of our families will be together again. I am so excited. Dinner for 30 is being prepared.
I made a pumpkin/dark chocolate cheesecake, will be making pierogy (from my dear grandmas recipe) when we get up there. Our friends are bringing the italian foods, and my mom is making the turkeys.

Right now it's miserable and raining and according to my mother in law we may get snow over the weekend up there, but I don't care. I'm totally excited to see all my "brothers" and their kids.

Happy thanksgiving everyone!
I woke up with a sore throat, stuffed head and runny nose this morning so I think my daughter will be doing most of the cooking on Sunday. We do the dinner on Sunday so we can all sleep in on Monday.
It is going to rain all weekend here.

I haven't had a homemade pierogy in 30 years. I have never made them myself but the church's where I grew up would always sell them on Friday's. And I was married to a man who was the third generation of his family from Poland. Boy could his mom cook!
Sounds like you will have a great weekend!! Don't eat too much.
