Windows 7 64bits Resmed Problems ACR38

Post by Liddelbrook » Mon Oct 05, 2009 6:37 pm

Finally got my S8 Autoset II and after my first night sleep I want to read out my data.

Already had the Resmed software (Version 03.07.007 Launcher 0.2.0.59 Clinical Version 0.7.0.259) and Resmed Cardreader.

Already downloaded the 64bits drivers for the card reader here:

http://www.acs.com.hk/drivers-manual.php?driver=ACR38 Installed Correctly

Checked the working of the reader with this software:

http://www.acs.com.hk/card-utility-tools.php Works

In contrary with the positive messages of 64bit Win 7 working with the reader and software, here its not working

(ps I have Win7 RTM)

HELP! plz

I have it working fine with Win 7 x64 Ultimate Signature Edition and the ACS 1.1.6.0 x64 driver.

What specifically is not working for you... where does it break

Cheers,

Bill

Hi,

thanks for replying.

When I want to select a device I see this:

Image

Driver is also 1.1.6.1 Dated 2009-06-15

While the reader is plugged in, the green lights flashes every second.

Downloading XP now will try to run it in VM Ware....

If you have a Wifi device in your system, trying disabling it in Windows Device Manager and see if the card reader is then visible to ResScan.

There are some known conflicts between WiFi and Reader devices at OS level across multiple versions of Windows.

Cheers,

Bill

Wifi was already disabled, even enabled it and disabled it again....

Funny is that the green light on the card reader start to become very active during the startup of ResScan, but goed back to 1 second blinks after the software has started.

The reader seem to work fine, card insertion and removal is detected by Windows....

Well. XP in a Virtual Machine didn't work. Driver didn't install in the VM.

I do have a lot of "Smart Card Reader 'ACS ACR38U 0' rejected IOCTL TRANSMIT: The semaphore timeout period has expired. If this error persists, your smart card or reader may not be functioning correctly." and "Smart Card Reader 'ACS ACR38U 0' rejected IOCTL POWER: The smart card is not responding to a reset. If this error persists, your smart card or reader may not be functioning correctly." entries in the Event viewer...

I still have an non-Resmed ACR38 on the way, maybe this one is broken?

I also have rescan 3.7, but using vista business. intalled all the latest drivers. sometimes it recognizes the card in the reader and other times not. have tried all of the above, and still can not figure out why it works some times and not all the time.

Are you inserting the card correctly? It goes into the reader with the gold contacts facing up. I got the message the reader was "in use" when I had the card upside down.

I am using Rescan 3.7 with Windows 7 32b in a Mac Book Pro 15 using Parallels Desktop without any problems!! Check in Device Manager under Smart Card Readers if it shows fine in there I think is a Rescan Issue

This is great to know! Once I get everything set up I will also try to get it running in Crossover to see if I can use it without the full footprint of a Parallels vm.

Been trying for hours on 3 different machines with all of the suggestions and I have not been able to get ResScan to find the reader or card. Crap.

I have a MacBook Pro with Win7 64-Bit in VMWare Fusion, using the onboard card reader (like i used to do with my XP Dell)... I can read the card, see the directories where the data is stored from my ResMed S9 but ResScan won't read it. I see there is a little helper program called CRWS and there is only a single option "Check A:/B: for card data" which I selected after reassigning my Card Reader to "B". Still won't work.

Any suggestions?

Stephen

This thread is about reading S8 ResScan cards and really has nothing to do with your issue.

There are numerous threads here about ResScan reading S9 SD cards which may be useful for you. Off hand, it seems that you may installed ResScan and the card drivers. The card drivers are NOT required for reading S9 SD cards and should not be installed.

Cheers,

Bill
