I finally got the long awaited fulllife mask on Wednsday. I was in such a hurry to try it out, I got a speeding ticket on the way home (86 in a 70).....opppps!
2 nights with it so far and not the best sleep yet, but I dont think that is due to the mask, just have had alot going through this this nugget of mine. Here is my initial thoughts:
1. Straps set up: it does really bother me too much... it seems that once you set it up, you just undue the bottom two neck straps, pull it over your head and done.
2. Noisy. It seems excessively noisy from the vent holes over my past liberty. I was always thinking I was leaking. I fixed this by applying scoth tape over 2 vent holes on each side. Much better now.
3. Nose beater: I read so much about this, I didnt even try it without the moleskin, I applied it right away. I still have the sensitive red bump in the bridge area...hoping it goes away with time. I am not for sure what causes this becuse while the mask is applied, it doesnt feel uncomfortable or anything in that area.
4. I find myself having to itch inside the mask alot. Weird. I think this may be due to having new head gear and all of the velcro usage causing tiny little pieces of fabric that fall into the mask during installation and then get to moving around with air flow. I will try washing the straps and see it that helps get some of the loose stuff away.
5. manueverability: Love the movement I can get with this mask when applied. I put it on and move it side to side about 3/4 of an inch on both sides without leaks..... swaaaaaaa---eeeeeeeeet!
6. I am not having to wear a chin strap with this mask. So the marks on my face (minus the nose bridge) are far less.
7. This mask does seem to make me thirsty, but that could be from other reasons as well. So not judging this really yet.
All in all, I like it so far. This is my first full face mask and is really taking some getting used to. more to follow.
so I got the fulllife mask...

Yikes! Not sure that's a good idea. I'm sure they build in a LITTLE extra flushing capability, but who knows how much? (And the CO2 WILL help you sleep better! )Eric_M wrote: I fixed this by applying scoth tape over 2 vent holes on each side. Much better now.

Good to hear your test run is going well! I am looking forward to getting a loaner FullLife on Tuesday, as I am getting tired of using my leaky Activa already. I'm glad it sounds like it's definitely forgiving in terms of movement when sleeping! Maybe my leaks will start going below 30 when I start using it...

I am a few nights in...
not to bad. I have tried mask with and without the moleskin. Definately needs it, to help seal as well as well as protect. Without it, it generated some very minor, however annoying leaks blowing into the eyes with any movement. I did learn though the itchyness I was experiencing was from the moleskin fibers. But have learned not to apply the mole skin past the last long little rib support in the mast... that definately helps. I still have the tape applied over 2 vent holes on each side. This helps alot with the noise and doesnt really affect the breathing at all. The manueverability is great still. I like the quick disconnect design for this mask with the double swivel very close together. I have no issues with the head gear, leave very little marks and are gone very very quick if it does. I am a chin strap wearer but havent needed it with this mask.........nice! The little bit of dry mouth I was experiencing at first has seemed to go away. I think the top of my mask finally found a home nestled right between my eyes....no leaks, not even really any soreness... so now hopefully this little red line across my nose will go away.
I am far very pleased so far and liking it more night by night.

Re: so I got the fulllife mask...
I can't even get through a night with it ,I've dubbed it the LEAKMASTER 5000 and I just got it a week ago ,to get it to stop leaking I have to crank down on all the straps and my nose hits the front of the mask/cushion,I called the DME and they are going to send me a medium cushion and she told me to keep playing around with it,Now I'm determined to make it work ,I refuse to give up ,It's a great mask other than the leaks .In the mean time I'll keep using my Optilife and hope the allergies don't hit to hard. btw I did get the leaks down to a minimum so I guess I gotta keep playing around with it.

This is dangerous! Those holes were designed to ensure that your exhaled breathe exits the mask! By blocking them you are re-breathing your own air, meaning you are getting less oxygen and more carbon dixoide than you do in room air -- please unblock those vents holes, they are critically important to your continued health.Eric_M wrote:...I still have the tape applied over 2 vent holes on each side...
