Drums

Post by Roberta » Wed Sep 30, 2009 10:36 am

Anyone have a spouse complain about a drum sound coming from CPAP machine? Husband heard it after I went to sleep. Even plugged his ears and still heard it. Said it was an even beat ? Wasn't there this morning.

Condensation in the tubing, called "rain out," can sometimes drip or rattle in a regular way that sounds drumlike. Turning down the humidifier can sometimes help, as can covering the tubing with fabric to insulate it from the air in the room that is often colder than the air inside the tube.

The only other way to stop loud drumming is to tell the drummer to use brushes instead of sticks or else you're going to replace him with a drum machine on the next tour. Drummers love hearing that.

If your husband is the only one hearing the drums, though, and it's a good beat, maybe he could learn to play air-guitar bass.

Jeff, that was hilarious! In my old band, we made sure NEVER to spare the drummer from constant jokes and humiliation.

Poor guy! Often the most talented guy in the band, the hardest worker, the one everyone else depends on, but still has to take constant abuse while having to see our backsides all evening. That's the way life goes.

Thanks for the support, tattooyu! I'll be here all week.

I haven't heard actual drums sounds, but I could have sworn I heard Tito Puente playing the bongos the other night...

It was probably the combo that was playing at the MonkeyButt Piano Lounge.

....I heard they were on the road.

As a drummer of many, many years on this here forum, I can only say: you never want the drums to stop. Why do you never want the drums to stop? Bass solo.

Make sure he did not put too much water in his humidifier.
