So I am supposed to be getting my machine this week sometime.
Of course I want to be able to read the info that is available to me...
I know there are a few ways to do this....
Right Now I am looking at Resmed ResScan Smart Card Reader for S8 and S8 II Machines, and the S8 ResScan Smart Card from this sites sponsor...
I take it that the info from the machine gets downloaded to the card I will purchase and then hook up the reader via USB to my computer for reading and analyzing from the 3.7 software.
Or should I be looking at the Encore Smart Card Reader - USB and the Encore Pro smart Card.
My main concern is the easiest and best way to be able to see the data and print it out for help with analyzing..
Am I correct in the above and is that the best way to go or should I be looking at some other way to get the info and read it??
Thanks for your help..

Encore Viewer is for Respironics machines. If you are getting a ResMed machine Encore Viewer will be useless. Which machine are you getting??

Re: Help with a Resmed S8 II
LC,
I might be wrong, but I think the Encore software is for Respironics brand machines. Anyway, the ResMed card reader is the way to go. I bought the software, USB adapter and card reader from a site in Australia at the recommendation of others here. It cost me about $300. I couldn't get the card reader device to work very well, and am glad I bought the USB adapter as well. It basically connects to the back of the S8 unit and transfers the data via USB cable to your PC. The card reader is used by removing the card from the S8, placing it into the reader, which then connects to the PC. I'm sure if I really worked at it, I could have gotten it to work, but the USB adapter works just fine. The only issue is that if yo go that route, the S8 unit has to be close to the PC. Not a problem if you have a laptop or don't mind moving the CPAP around.
