IntelliPap Smartcode questions
IntelliPap Smartcode questions
For those who have been using the Intellipap, have you been happy with the Smartcode results and is it comparable to having the software to get the data from the machine? I have been thinking about this machine and it has good reviews. I wouldn't be able to spring for card readers and software for a machine until some time later and this looks like a good way to get results with no hassles or added expense. I would like some feedback on Smartcode results and users satisfaction with them.

With theintellipap, you don't need a separate card reader. It uses a compact flash card. If you have something that can read a card from a digital camera, you probably can read the Intellipap memory card.

Re: IntelliPap Smartcode questions
So from what I see then is no software is need with the intellipap machine to get full data records off for my use or give to my doctor. No need to spend cash on a card reader or other software and I can track how my therapy is working for me at any given time.
I guess then all I would need to make sure is that the system uses a method to check for apnea's and can correct them as well the others can such as Resmed or Respirinocs or Sandman series. If it is that good it looks like this would be the best buy for me who is going to have to pay out of pocket and not have to buy several extra accessories too.
Anyone know if Intellipap has a good auto machine that is in the same league as the more popular big names?

It would be nice if on a future model they added a wireless card which you could enter your router id and password and then it could transmit this data automatically.

Re: IntelliPap Smartcode questions
The Intellipap has two ways that you can monitor your therapy. The smart codes that are displayed can be looked up online, and you can generate a report. Or you can use the optional software and download the results. In both cases (I do it both ways) you get more than enough data to correctly monitor therapy. I am extremely happy with the Intellipap, and equally happy with its algorithm. Despite some doubters, the machine does respond to events over a pressure of 10cm ( had them very rarely) and immediately ramps up to treat them successfully. So data monitoring is easy.
AS regards the Smartcodes displayed on the front, you press the display button, and you have 1 day, usage, 7 day, 30 day, and 90 day codes. I enter them from this site, as I bought mine from Cpap.com https://www.cpap.com/cpap-machine/devil ... chine.html See the "track your therapy" section, where you enter a code.
Here is Intellipap's site do to exactly the same. Although it has lots of information, all you need is the smart codes to generate a report. https://www.intellipap.com/default.aspx
I Left my one night code on there as an example of how it works. " Enter this code in "1 day" and hit generate report. You need not fill out anything else: FR9f-FDF-DR93 That was my last night's usage.

You are correct, you can use a standard SD card with the SmartLink Therapy Management System. We did not want to force folks to purchase a proprietary card, so you can use any SD card.BlueHairBob wrote:With theintellipap, you don't need a separate card reader. It uses a compact flash card. Bravo, DeVilbiss. I LOVE your product, and equally love the fact that you come here to give suggestions and support. I wish some of your competitors would do the same, as they won't address issues that have taken place with their product. There is a mask issue with another large OSA product, and they simply won't address it. NOT your company, but we all know about whom I am speaking.

Re: IntelliPap Smartcode questions
I'd purchase an additional module if it actually were wireless. I'm lazy like that

Re: IntelliPap Smartcode questions
You can get the codes analyzed so easily online that the module isn't necessary. Just use the Intellipap website, or the one our host provides for the Intellipap.
Re: IntelliPap Smartcode questions
I really do like that feature of getting results from my machine and is one of the reasons I selected the Intellipap over others because of the smart code feature. I'm not always sure what all of the data I get means to me at times and this has become a source of some anxiety for me. I used a M-series Plus with C-flex for a year and really had no problems with my therapy. After listening to others report their data they were getting from their machines I began to think I was missing something by not having a auto machine and felt compelled to purchase one at some point. I did decide to buy a IntelliPap out of pocket in hopes of improving my therapy or at least knowing what was happening while I was asleep. For me it has created more problems. I had set it for a pressure of 12 to 16 because I was prescribed a pressure of 14. My results showed I was at max pressure, or plateau, about 17 percent of the time. According to the info on the bottom of the report it states I should consider raising the max pressure for a plateau reading of over 10 percent to allow for higher pressures. I did raise it to 12-18 and I was at a plateau of 31 percent of the time and my AHI went from 6 to 8. I had expected the AHI to go down. So now I don't know what to do. I was hoping auto meant auto and I didn't have to worry about it, kinda like auto pilot where it just does what needs to be done and I could just sit back and enjoy the ride.

Ahh, if it were that easy. Unfortunately the machines have their limitations.Section1 wrote:I did raise it to 12-18 and I was at a plateau of 31 percent of the time and my AHI went from 6 to 8. One being that it takes some time to respond to the event indicators and if it takes too long then the event happens anyway. This is why the minimum pressure most often needs to be very close to a successful straight pressure.
Or some people do better at straight pressure.
Why not increase the minimum pressure to closer to your original titrated pressure and see what happens?
Or even try the machine in straight cpap mode?

Re: IntelliPap Smartcode questions
I guess because I expected it, the machine, to know what was best and do what needed to be done. I thought that's what auto was supposed to do.
