Advice w/ Swift LT face marks?

Post by mattfirme » Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:52 pm

I'll bet this isn't a new one! After over a year of trying different nasal masks and never finding a non-leaky fit, I got the Swift LT pillow system and slept like a log! I'm sold -- but the marks on my cheeks are really deep. It's not that I have overtightened, but that I'm a side sleeper. The marks from my temple to my cheeks are big, and last hours! Anyone solve this problem? Any tweaks or modifications that might help? Thanks, everyone....

Padacheeks has some nifty little pads that will help.

My Swift LT for Her came with something similar and it does help. If someone is handy themselves it would be fairly simple to design something similar.

Definitely try the padacheeks. But, I still wonder if you're not over-tightening. I'm a side sleeper, too, and don't have cheek marks like yours. Just a thought...

I also use the swift LT and love it! But the marks on my face would last for more than 6 hours, and I also did not over tighten the straps. I ordered Pad-a-cheeks and now have no problem. I highly recommend them. I am a side sleeper too. I also tend to swell in my face when I sleep, making the problem worse. I love Pad-A-Cheeks!!!!!!!!

I am dealing with a nasty alarm. It will not alarm if I do not use the humidifier. Only I need the humidifier because I get all dried out in the head and it hurts. I have all the other alarms disabled. I really want to go to sleep using my bipap st. Can I duct tape down the alarm and silence buttons? Anybody have this problem?

OK OK, y'all have convinced me. I already use the Swift II, but going to order an LT on Monday and trade them around--use both. In general, the Swift design has been consistently one of the best around. These great new masks bring back evil memories of the goldseal masks used several years ago. They were guaranteed to turn your face into chopped meat, or your money back.

I have used my Swift LT for Her w/o the soft wraps and don't get lines on my face even though I am a side sleeper. Wearing the soft wraps is more comfortable though. The PadACheeks cover more of the headgear and mask frame than the soft wraps do, but the soft wraps are enough for me. I do like the PadACheeks short hose cover for this mask, as it does help with rainout more than the 6-ft. hose cover alone.

What I really like about the Swift LT is that you can rotate the barrel to align the pillows better. Being able to adjust the angle of the pillows really helps to control leaks, especially now the quality of ResMed's Swift LT pillows has suffered over the last several months.

I hope you like the Swift LT!

I'm interested in trying the Swift FX (assuming ResMed ever releases it in the US), but it looks like it doesn't have an angle adjustment for the pillows.
