With the Autoset II my Apneas are gone. However, I still wake up every hour and my breathing is extremely shallow, when I do. The rhythm seems normal but it can't be more than a mouth full of air that I move. I feel stressed enough to need 10 minutes before I can sleep again. HI is still above 6.
Could a BiPAP AutoSV help me? Since I don't really stop breathing? The minimum Volume Control of the AVAPS should work but I read that the air delivery seems quite unnatural. TIA
Shallow Breath; AVAPS or BiPAP AutoSV?

Gruetsi, Roeschti.
Those two machines work very differently, and which is better for you depends on your diagnosed problem.
Do you have trouble breathing in and breathing out on a regular basis (not caused by sleep)?
Are you just describing a problem exhaling against the pressure supplied by your present machine?
What is your machine set at? Are you using EPR?

Re: Shallow Breath; AVAPS or BiPAP AutoSV?
Hi, O.,
sorry for answering so late, but I had a few rough nights and could not concentrate enough.
What I feel and see on the charts is a strong correlation to stress.
I will get a VPAP ST tryout this week. But my pulmonologist said I will probably have to go to a sleep lab for a week (sic) since my numbers seemed too low for the symptoms I have.

I tried with and without EPR, auto and straight CPAP and higher pressure. Higher pressure seems to work a little bit but higher than the machine usually goes is contra productive.ozij wrote: What is your machine set at? Are you using EPR?
