Good Mask for Narrow Face?

Post by SleepyInDC » Mon Sep 07, 2009 2:13 pm

Can anyone recommend a Nasal/FF Mask that is good for those of us with narrow faces and long noses? I have tried a wide variety of masks and yet to find something that actually works/fits/doesn't leak on my face. I am beginning to loose hope that CPAP is ever going to work. I tried the CPAP.com "Product Selector" and it recommended some including the ComfortCurve, but I tend to toss and turn in my sleep.... Any ideas?

Here is what I have tried so far....
Opus 360 & Swift LT - I don't like pillows. My naires get really sore and I just don't get enough air this way.
ComfortFusion - I mostly like this mask, but it doesn't seal well on my face, also my nose goes too far into the mask and rubs on the frame.
Zzz-Mask - This one worked for a bit, but the headgear is designed for a much larger head and I just can't get it to seal well. It also rides up throughout the night and leaks all over the place.
FullLife - Face is just too narrow. No matter how I adjust it leaks into my eyes (my nasal bridge isn't wide enough)
Hans Rudolph V2 - Same problem as the FullLife. There just was no way to get a good seal near my nasal bridge.

Please Help.

-Sleppy.

Have you thought about Fisher & Paykel FFMs like the 431 or 432? I have a small 432 which is a bit long for me, but if it came in a petite size, this would be my mask of choice! The 431 uses one frame for all three sizes and comes with S, M & L cushions. The 432 uses a different size frame for each size and uses a foam cushion with a silicone seal (which is the same seal used by the 431). I find the foam cushion provides more stability and a better fit. There's also the Forma FFM, which is quite similar to the 432, but it's not rated nearly as highly on cpap.com.

I've tried the Quattro and the Zzz FFMS as well, and I find the 432 to be a little narrower than the Quattro. The Zzz leaked so much I couldn't even give it a try.

Hope this helps. Hang in there!!
