New Faces to Screen Name Idea
I've got a great marriage. My wife is my best friend (sorry Tom -- LoneRider).
Close to you (and we're almost exactly the same age IIRC -- I'm a '57 baby); I'm happily married 23.5 years ... all to the same woman, that is. I've got a good example to follow; a few years ago I flew to Toronto to surprise my parents for their 50th anniversary. Then we took them on a cruise to celebrate their 50th and our 20th.

Bill,
Being a '57 baby myself, I think maybe a lot did have to do with the examples set for us at home while we were growing up. I, too, am talking about 25 years to the same man and 5 years dating before marriage, so 30 all together this year. In any event, my parents will be celebrating their 52nd anniversary on the 4th of October. My father, out of nowhere, in the middle of a restaurant or just sitting in the living room, will grab my mother by the chin and say, looking at us, "Do you know this is my partner? I like her a little bit." He is crazy about my mom still and I find their relationship inspirational. Not everyone is as fortunate.
I guess when you see your own parents so much in love after a lifetime together, you realize that it actually can happen where two people can still be as much, if not more, in love 50 years into their marriage than they were when they first fell in love. It's a beautiful thing, too, to be able to pass that on to your own kids.
Congratulations on making a great choice. You surely have been blessed, as have your children.

Yea, Barb! The best way to do it is through Irfanview, at least for me. You can download it at http://www.download.com/IrfanView/3000- ... tag=button
These are directions I sent to Yawn/Amy last night (hope she forgives me for pasting it here:
Right click on the photo and choose to open it with Irfanview. Once opened, go to the top and choose "Image." Then choose "Resize/Resample." The box that appears, the second box on the left is "Set New Size." Make sure it's set for pixel, not inches or cms. Then in the box, since you can't have more than 80 pixels high or wide, determined if your height of the photo or the width is longer. If you choose the height as being biggest, type 80 in the box for height. It will automatically make the length the corresponding dimension.
Once done, click on "Okay." Then go to the top again, under "File" and click on "Save As," and save it somewhere you will remember, like your desktop.
Next go into your profile on cptalk.com. Almost at the bottom, you will see a place to browse your computer for a picture for your avatar. When you find it, click on it. Then at the bottom, hit "Submit." If it is the right size, then the next screen will say it successfully saved your settings and your photo will appear under your screen name UNDER EVERY POST YOU'VE EVER LEFT RETROACTIVELY!!! When I saw that, I said, "OMG!!!"

ROBB, NO!!! That's exactly how I feel about my own photos, and I'm sure at least half, if not most, of the others who have posted their photos, too. If you're saying we, the members of this site, would love you any less if your face isn't model or movie star material, then you insult us. It's just nice to have a face to put to the screen name.
You do what makes you feel comfortable. If you truly don't feel good about posting a picture, I'm only trying to push you into it and don't listen to me, don't post it then. I just know that no one here could care less if you're gorgeous, okay or anything else. We just would like to see who we speak to all the time, that's it!
