mirage activa Lt

Post by wrenn » Thu Aug 27, 2009 10:53 pm

I've been using this mask for about 2 weeks now and it just occurred to me that maybe I am supposed to be using the short hose that I used on the activa? I just hooked up the long one right to the mask since no short hose came with this new mask. Sorry for the stupid question.

Anybody know? thanks in advance.

I have the LT as well. They eliminated the short hose that was on the original mask. There is no reason to connect and use it. That short hose was for quick disconnection purposes. On the LT, your just suppose to pull the disconnect (where it attaches to the hose)... thats a quick disconnect tube. It snaps on and off the mask.

The LT is a great mask. I love mine!

I find it much easier to undo the two lower clips. Even though because of peripheral neuropathy, I have little feeling in my fingers, it is still a breeze to hit the ends of the clips and gain a quick release.

I did try a Quattro during my test rental and used the disconnect as you described but reports in this forum said that that was the main failure point of the Quattro. I've assumed the same flaw in the Activa LT.

I also tested the original Activa and although I think that was more comfortable than the LT, the fiddly clips (as in the Quattro) were too hard for my fingers to manipulate.

Cheers

Thanks for your replies. I loved this mask the first couple of nights but now I am struggling with leaks and can't seem to get it just right. I also have wonky fingers (arthritis) and find it harder to unclip the mask than the original activa. I actually thought it was better last night using the short hose but I guess in the long run it is about how sleepy or relaxed you are in general for this to all feel right. Thanks again and have a good day.
