Well, I went in for my first month eval with the DME and had 100% compliance with AHI of 2.7
I use the Swift LT and really like the mask pretty much, but I have trouble with the mask leaking when I turn on my side. I bought an Aeomed Headrest mask and it did much better not leaking, but I don't like the amount of noise that it puts out. The LT is so quiet. When I did finally get to sleep using the Headrest, if ever I did wake up during the night, it was very hard to get back to sleep because of the noise produced. So I went back to my LT. I was talking to the DME about the leaking of the LT because I switch side to side through the night due to legs going numb (think it's meralgia paresthetica, but this is my own diagnosis and another topic altogether). Anyway she showed me a Respironics Simplicity nasal mask and I was wondering what anyone can tell me about this mask. Does it make much noise? Has anyone ever used both the Simplicity and the LT (if so, how do they compare)? Any problems with leak?
Thanks,
Brian

Re: If you've used Simplicity and Swift
I have used both the Simplicity and Swift LT. I like both masks. As for noise, there is really nothing to choose, in my opinion.
If I need a break from the nasal pillows, I use the Simplicity. It is about the most minimal nasal mask available since it has no forehead piece. The straps can leave marks on your forehead if they are not just right but that is true of any mask. I use a forehead pad from http://www.padacheek with the Simplicity to avoid that. It seals well.
I was titrated with the Simplicity, almost 7 years ago, and used it exclusively for a number of years. Then along came nasal pillows.

Re: If you've used Simplicity and Swift
I have used both the Simplicity and the Swift LT. My favorite mask so far of all I've tried has been the Simplicity. IF the top straps are leaving marks, Hawthorne, you have them too tight. I did have trouble w/the center strap being way too long for me, but it was no problem to fix. I just pulled up a pleat or fold in it and held the fold in place w/a strip of velcro until I had it adjusted just right. I slept w/the velcro holding the fold for several nights and when satisfied w/the fit I cut the fold out w/a pair of scissors and put the cut ends back together w/a velcro strip. That velcro strip has held for MONTHS! I'm on my third Simplicity (truthfully only the second but don't tell my DME and insurance I have one still safely packed away). And my original Swift is stashed w/my backup/travel xPAP.

Thanks Slinky, I believe I am going to try this as my next mask. Will have to look for it on auction, maybe one will show up in my size there.

Slinky, a medium is what I think I'd need. I sent you a PM.

Re: If you've used Simplicity and Swift
I received and responded to your PM. Just keep in mind that the Simplicity tends to run a little smaller than many masks AND it is NOT designed to set at the bridge of your nose but rather somewhat lower than the bridge. Which is GOOD for ME as most anything, including eye glasses, tend to "milk" my sinuses when sitting at the bridge of my nose.
