Having a swelling problem
Having a swelling problem
I need some help from fellow cpap users. I have only had my machine for about a month, and I am having problems with the masks. I started with the gel face mask. While it was comfortable, and immediately had good sleep; I think I had an allergic reaction to the gel. The bridge of my nose had sores, and my nose and eyes were very swollen. I went back to the store where I got the machine and they exchanged the mask for the nasal kind. This is not as comfortable and I am still swelling. The bridge of my nose if finally healing, the rest of my nose is swollen and I am having bloody noses. I went to my doctor to make sure I had no infection. My sleep doctor suggested I only use the mask half the night, but then I have a crappy night sleep. Has anyone else had swelling? Is this something normal that people don't talk about? Is it just my sinuses being inflated? Help I hate this feeling and am ready to take back the darn machine and take my chances with poor health! Thanks in advance.
having a swelling problem
Hi Mardi-welcome to the forum. I have been on my machine now for almost 2 weeks. I have the Petite Comfort Gel mask which works great for me, even tho I sleep on my side. Only problem I am having is swollen eyelids. Wake up in the am and feel like I have "pig eyes". Have tried to get ahold of my technician but so far not been able to connect with her. I see the Dr again on the 26th. Eyes don't bother me but I feel self-conscious about it especially as I deal with professional people all day. Good luck to you. Andi
