Respironics - MORONS!

Post by lfzguud » Wed Aug 12, 2009 9:23 am

For weeks I've been trying to get a "Sizing Guage" for the FITLIFE mask (not to be confused with the FullLife mask Please don't bother sending links to fitpacks, sizing charts, etc., for the FULLLIFE mask - it is a completely different beast).

The geniuses at Respironics point me to the "Fitlife Patient and Clinician Fitting Guide" (available at: http://fitlife.respironics.com/download ... -14-09.pdf)
And this is where the fun begins. First of all, it was THAT brochure that shows in the very first picture, the SIZING GUAGE that is needed to determine the fit. I saw that BEFORE calling and asking for the sizing guage, still they refer me back to the *&^&^%$ brochure!
Then, when I call back and get ANOTHER moron on the phone, they tell me there is no such mask as the FITLIFE. After convincing her that there is and directing her to HER employers website, her reply was "well, I'll be - there is such a mask! I'm sorry, I don't have any information on that mask. You will have to contact your equipment provider."
My equipment provider wasn't able to get the sizing guage either. In fact, I have contacted 27 equipment providers in the US and one other country and ALL of them express the same frustration trying to get the "SIZING GUAGE" from Respironics for this particular mask.
So, I make about a dozen more calls to Respironics and FINALLY get a representative that knows something about this mask. She looks up the part number for the SIZING GUAGE and finds that they don't have any in stock and won't have for another 3 or 4 weeks. The mask they have, the SIZING GUAGE they don't.
In the meantime, I get the email below from one more MORON at Respironics:

"Thank you for your inquiry. The sizing gauge and fitting guide are the same thing. There are not 2 separate items for finding the right size mask.
All your provider has to do is to call and we will send it out to them. We also recommend using the sizing gauge/guide attached to each mask.
Thank you,
Patient Information Services
Philips Home Healthcare Solutions"

Well, isn't that nice?????

Couldn't they just make you one out of a piece of wax paper? That looks like what they have done in the brochure. :p

I wish! It was difficult enough just to get them to realize that the mask exists!

Looks like part of the vaporware materialized sooner than the other....
