confuse with my equipment

Post by Reine » Wed Aug 12, 2009 7:33 am

Hi all, Sorry for my ignorance but I'm confuse with my equipment.

When I asked my DME for a full data capable machine, she gave me the Elite ll instead of the Escape ll. The AutoSet Il was not on my Rx so I did not get that. I'm grateful for all the suggestions here on what to ask for when purchasing my machine.
Thanks for that.

I had no problem getting the software, and the ResLink is what she order for me to monitor my therapy. She explained that The ResLink would give me more data in detail.
I am still waiting for a cable that is on back order so I did not install my software yet.
My confusion is with the data card that came with the machine ? ( I'm assuming this card is for compliance only )
The ResLink came with a data card but no accessories for Oximeter. Correct me if I'm wrong the cable that is on back order would be the Resmed ResScan Smart card reader?? and this will connect to the computer.

While reading some posts on the ResLink I came across this thread and now I am really confuse. If the ResLink is primarily a tool for sleeplabs ,What do I need?

this is a reply
... but I'm not sure why you would want to buy a Reslink? Its primarily a tool for sleeplabs.

Cheers,

Bill

Although I'm confuse with my equipment I'm happy to reported that my insurance covered all expense.
My question is. Can someone tell me if my equipment is compatible?
Please be patient with me I'm sure that I will understand it all some day because the information here is great. Thank you

Sorry, I can't help you with your question. But I'm really curious about your DME. They seem to be very cooperative with your requests. Who is your DME?
I'm workin' on it.

I'm with hosehead? Who is your DME?

I can't really answer your questions either but there are lots here who can.

Wow!! Well worth the drive in my opinion.

I'm sure someone knowledgable will come along to answer your questions. I think it's wonderful your DME is providing all of this for you. Mine nearly had a cow when they found out I had the card reader and software. I don't use an oximeter so I really can't help with those questions. I'm a point and click kind of woman.

I don't think that I need an oximeter, what I asked for was the software and card reader. She got me the Reslink and to my understanding it is the same with more detail data.

BTW, my DME is the HomeSleepCare in Waterloo & I am quite happy with them. When I requested getting the ResScan software & Card reader, they just had to ask the dr for his okay (which he gave) and they ordered it for me. Mind you, at the time they said I was only the 2nd person to ask for the software. I since referred someone else from this forum to them & he got the software also.

I also asked 10 days ago if I could trial an APAP unit to see if I could better work out my optimum pressure. They are getting their first order of the ResMed APAP's in. It was supposed to be yesterday & now won't be until next week, so she'll call and I'll go get a unit for trial. Again, they just had to run it by the dr and he said okay.
