I notice the pictures aren't the same from site to site, and what I have here doesn't seem to match any of them, so something I'll play with once they arrive.

Side note: last night I think things went pretty well - possibly better than I've had in months. My skin color is back, the rings under my eyes are very small, my trip to the gym was easy. I used a chinstrap again, after stopping on the suggestion of a doctor a few months ago.
If you're using a Resmed machine (a white one) then you've got the wrong one on your profile. If your machine is black, then its not a Resmed.
Your machine should have its name written on it.

Updated my equipment profile to be accurate to the new machine I'm using.

The masks I swap between the Optilife and a Resmed nasal mask.

Humidity - Julie - thanks for that suggestion. I pretty much had thought I had it figured out, but the last couple of sleeps I've completely disabled the humidifier - air pass over - and it seems to be working much better.

I tried several full face masks about seven months ago. The hybrid, a resmed model, a F&P model.. in the end the F&P model was the one that seemed to stick to my face and not leak like the others. The best performance I got out of that one at the time was really bad (according to the Respironics software, AHI about 17-20 and high snore rates). I'm wondering now if maybe it's a good time to revisit them considering my nose has been acting somewhat better at night. The F&P mask actually encourages you to keep your mouth closed I think.

Does my current machine output good AHI data (S8 Escape II)? According to cpap.com's description it might actually.. for some reason I thought it didn't. If it does, I need to go on a hunt for the software and the data card reader, I've been without ever since I went with this machine.

I'm somewhat nervous about taping. What happens if my nose blocks completely at night (as it has been), do the apneas just get worse or do I eventually open my mouth against the tape's will?

Chance, if you are asking if the Escape is data capable (one that will work with the Rescan 3.7 software and reader), no it is not data capable. I was given the Escape as my first machine and within two weeks got my doctor/DME to exchange if for the Resmed Autoset II which is data capable and also works as an autopap or a cpap. Do what you can do to get your Escape exchanged for the Autoset.

I have just started taping my mouth in the last two weeks. I have very sensitive skin so I am using paper tape and it barely has any stickiness to it. For that reason I have a chin strap that I position it so that it actually rests on top of some of the tape. This is working for me and I know if I somehow couldn't breath through my nose, I could easily open my mouth to breath. I am a novice to taping but this forum has some super duper experts on taping and you can find their posts in this forum. And of course, some folks will mention that instead of taping you should use a full face mask. A good reason to find a full face mask now, even if you don't use it exclusively, is so that you will have it for times when you may have an illness that is causing major nasal congestion.
