Help With EncoreViewer *Updated with chart*
Got the software installed and the data downloaded from my card. WOW! I sure didn't expect to see the number of OA flags. To all the folks that have said, without software you haven't a clue, I tip my hat. You're right.
Anyway, first off how do I save the charts to file(s) so I can post them if neccessary? I know how to put pics in a photobucket or similar account. Just need to know how to copy/save them from Encore.
Secondly, on the daily charts, do the bottom numbers under each chart represent each hour elapsed that night?
Finally, since the card only saves 7 days of detailed data, how do I create/save a file each 7 days so I can go back a few weeks and compare daily data?

To save them "Print" to a PDF converter program like Primo PDf (free program). It will save them as a PDF file. You can convert the PDF to a JPEG and upload to Photobucket or one of the other image hosting services. Then copy IMG file to your post. Or you can do a screen print of the PDF print and mine saves the screen shot as a JPEG.

Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting: "Wow what a ride!"

Re: Little Quick Help With EncoreViewer
You should download a free PDF program. I use Primo PDF. You can save each night's data to your Documents using Primo PDF. I save my data each day and once a week (every 7 days) I save a week's worth of data again using Primo PDF.
To get the data to this site you do use Photobucket for one. You need to get the page you want to post here in JPEG format. You can do that with several photo editing programs like PhotoShop Elements or you can scan your data to your computer (after printing it out) in JPEG format if you have a scanner.
It's best to just put Page 4 (Daily Details) here on the forum. That page tells us the most. That's the only page you would have to print and scan if you do it that way. Hope this makes sense!

Re: Help With EncoreViewer *Updated with chart*
After looking thru my past weeks worth data I did a little mask adjustment last night, my leaks were not in control, they were when I first started but I played with loosening the mask and thanks to the software, I saw that I needed to tighten it some. I installed a hose cover to help with noise but i think I created a new problem, I got stuffy last nite, humidifer set to 1, had to turn the humidifier off. Ignore the first hour of data, it was me playing with the machine. This was a pretty good night for me, did take an Ambien, took me a little while to fall asleep.
Are the little negative spikes on the leak line normal? 39 is about right for the Quattro leak according to the Resmed chart. My OA & H are consistant with the prior days, the VS cluster is a a deviation, I'm guessing due to my stuffyness, I woke up breathing fine. BTW, I found a program called ScreenshotCaptor that works really well for grabbing charts.

Yes, normal.Rustyolddude wrote:Are the little negative spikes on the leak line normal?
Your leak line is enviable. Very, very nice.
You have little "clusters" or groupings of events like I do. I find that when I have these clusters I feel less than optimal the next day, often accompanied by a morning waking headache. Having enough events back to back is much harder on the body than having one random event an hour.
The event clusters could be Sleep stage related (REM is often worse) as well as indication of sleeping on one's back which also can make events worse. We already have ruled out leak.
I don't remember if you mentioned anywhere how you feel but I would try to figure out how to reduce those clusters.
The first one may be the machine chasing the snores but I think the other later clusters are real. Positional versus REM stage sleep. If you are already on your side all the time, then only thing left is pressure increase, very tiny increase only. To be considered only after you make sure that what you see on this report seems to be the trend for yourself.
Good job. And yes, I just take a screen shot with Vista Snip it tool to get image for photobucket. So much easier than trying to deal with pdf document things. Takes maybe 10 seconds to get image, name, and upload.

Re: Help With EncoreViewer *Updated with chart*
Irratability level is much improved and general disposition is improved on the days like today where I get a good nights sleep. I don't know how much of the disposition and pleasantness is a result of the sleep and how much is the side effect of the Ambien. Today I got sleepy mid day around 3pm and it continues but not the level of fatigue I'm used to on the days where I sleep poorly. I'm still battling the insomnia part, it's a process of systematic elimination at the moment. Once I get the insomnia solved, I am convinced I'll be a new person, I keep getting glimpses of that person and I'm liking it.Pugsy wrote: [

I generally sleep on my back though I do sleep on either side for a portion of the night. I'll occassionally get really bad earaches due to sinus issues when I sleep on my side. They wake me during the night and I'll have to roll to the otherside to relieve the pressure. I've also had a lot of problems with shoulder pain sleeping on my side. It's possible that my insomnia, joint pain and other issues are related to side effects of my BP med. That's what I'm exploring right now. It's possible that those clusters of events are related to my back sleeping. I won't play with pressures right now, I'm too early into this, once things settle in, the insomnia squared away and the data becomes consistant, then perhaps I'll have to explore pressure adjustments.
Thanks for your insight!

I'm new at this too, almost a month in now, but wanted to let you know FYI that I have found that it's the software, not the card, that won't display more than 7 days of detail charts at a time. In other words, if I go back three weeks to my first week on cpap and specify that 7 day date range in EncoreViewer, the report includes all the daily detail charts-- so they're still there on the card. How long they really stay, I don't know.
Re: Help With EncoreViewer *Updated with chart*
I too have joint pain which affects my sleep quality. I have more events on my back and in REM sleep also. I try to stay on my side but I have so much pelvic and lower back pain that I just have to toss and turn often during the night. The pain does wake me up. Ambien puts me just deep enough in sleep that I sleep through the pain and can get 7 or 8 hours. Without it I wake often and am lucky to get 6 hours of sleep. I am not paying off any slept debt at this rate. I see the sleep doctor Tuesday. On the agenda is to discuss suitable meds to either help relieve pain or get to sleep deep enough to not wake with the discomfort. I too have some fatigue and drowsy issues many days in the late afternoon. I think it is related to simply not getting enough hours of sleep. I don't think the ambien causes daytime residual drowsiness for me anyway.ewl wrote:I generally sleep on my back though I do sleep on either side for a portion of the night. For me the mask and machine adjustment was a piece of cake. My problem is staying asleep.. Tis the way of life I guess, always something to complicate things.
Good luck. Keep us posted.

There is a 'annotations' menu function in Encore. I can drag the various boxes & balloons from the menu bar onto the page but I can't figure out how to type in any text. I can delete the boxes, move & resize them. Nothing in the help menu refers to them.

After you place the annotation on the report, you can right-click on it, and select "properties". On the dialog that opens, you can change all kinds of stuff, like font size. In the data area, there is an attribute called text. To the right of that, you can type in or change the text of the annotation.Rustyolddude wrote:There is a 'annotations' menu function in Encore. If you download the card every week, all the data is saved on your computer - including the daily data for that week. I think Encore Viewer is just reading the previously downloaded data.ewl wrote:Howdy,Rustyolddude wrote: Finally, since the card only saves 7 days of detailed data, how do I create/save a file each 7 days so I can go back a few weeks and compare daily data?

I know I can "merge" data from two cards in this way - by loading it to the same user.

Thanks, got it!. Trying to keep track of the effects of various things I do like changing pillows, etc.sepool wrote:After you place the annotation on the report, you can right-click on it, and select "properties". As for merging data, I know the card only keeps 7 consecutive days worth of detail data, and as I understand about 320 days of combined & averaged data. I presume each time I download the card to the same user it (re)saves combined data from day 1 and the last 7 days of detail data. What I'm doing is printing the weeks worth of detail data to a pdf file & saving it. That way I can look back thru a few weeks worth of detail data, look at annotations & try to optimise my therapy.
