Hi - got the new mask on Wednesday and it was great - wonderful - super - for the first night.
I didn't change anything but on the second night I got leaks everytime I changed position in bed ... and I got so frustrated I gave dh a bop on the head because he was sleeping to close to me (
Last night - much the same. I went to bed early - put the thing on while I watched TV so I would be used to it. Took my meds and hit the pillows ....and then the fight started LOL. I just couldn't find a way to lay my head without leaks. Finally too a really strong sleeping pill at 3 am and slept until 9 - and the mask stayed put. So do I have to basically put myself into a drug induced stupor to sleep with this thing.
This is mask #3 for me - I like the fit, the feel and the comfort on my face....and it doesnt blow air all over the place...so dont want to give up yet. I tried 7 different pillows last night as well.....dh wisely chose to sleep in the guest room!
It has been very hot here (near Vancouver, British Columbia) and we arent used to it. Could a sweaty face cause the mask to slip.
The insert that covers my skin seems to stick really well - sometimes too well - like a second skin or a giant SCAB tee-hee!
Suggestions please.

Flexfit 406 - new mask
Re: Flexfit 406 - new mask
I use this mask too -- it fits me well.
I ain't no expert, but it seems reasonable that the sweat would dislodge the seal of the mask.
I always cleanse my face before hosin' up. Maybe you'll have to do that sometime during the nite as long as the heat wave lasts?

Re: Flexfit 406 - new mask
This is the mask I started with and have returned to after trying other masks. The sleep tech had adjusted it way too tight, so I hated it at first. Once I learned to loosen it up, it was much better. After a couple weeks, I started having leaks, and I had to tighten the top strap a bit more. Now it's working well for me again. I use the citrus wipes each day on the seal, and once a week I wash the mask and seal (not the foam, which I just wipe off) in very warm water with Dr. Bronner's soap. I also wash my face each night with either Dr. Bronner's or Ivory liquid. I get far fewer leaks now and can sleep on each side.
Other masks are too wide and press on the flat part of my cheek bone, which leaves red marks and is not at all comfortable. This mask is narrower, so it sits in the spot between my nose and cheek bone, which is fleshier. More comfortable and fewer leaks.
When it's warmer, my face does sweat, and this will make the seal slip. In this case, I use a citrus wipe on both the seal and my face, and it keeps a seal much better.
I don't like the forehead piece on this mask, so a PadACheek forehead pad works great to make it more comfortable. Now that I tape my mouth too, leaks are very low.
I hope this helps!
