Two Innomed Hybrid Mask Q's

Post by DcKalop » Thu Jul 23, 2009 6:12 pm

Got the Innomed Hybrid mask, it's MUCH better than my prior full face mask.

2 Questions:

1) How do you keep the headgear connected to the mask? The clips come off real easy. I notice last night the clips came off twice while sleeping... and if I tighter the straps any tighter, it will literally hurt. ?

2) The hose repositioning causes the nose pillows to break seal and leak. So.. it seems the hose needs to somehow stay attached to the headgear, how can I do this? When the hose is at my head or pulled upward, the nose pillows stay in. BUT, when the hose in any way pulls down, it causes the pillows to leak?

Thanks

DC...

1.) Not had that problem. My clips "snap" or "click" in place.

2.) I run my hose horizontally... I sleep on the other side of a queen sized bed from where my machine is. When I run my hose over my shoulder, no problems.

I've never had a problem with the headgear not staying snapped to the mask shell. In fact, of the 5 or 6 I tried before settling on this one, I find it the easiest attachment to get on and off.

As for the nasal pillows, yeah, they do tend to leak and folks here have their own different ways that work for them--hopefully they'll see this and share. For me, I do this...

It's a shoelace that I wrap around the headgear strap in the back and put it around the nasal pillows in front.

As for having the hose go up over your head, maybe this would help, although I do find that because of where the exhaust holes are on the Hybrid, that it's rather noisy to have the hose directed up over my head. http://tinyurl.com/lyc3bl.

Thanks thus far.

On the clip issue, wonder if I can use some type of epoxy and just cement 3 of the 4 clips into place? Would it melt the plastic? Also... my unit is brand new, I just got it, don't know if they've redone the clips, but my clips definitely don't lock in place, they fit fine and all, but they don't click or lock. They're lose as a goose. Also seem the top 2 clips come unattached more than the bottom. who knows

DC... what I did when one of my clips broke (before I found a replacement for them)... was that I took a piece of string and tied the strap to the mask.

No fumes that way.

Hey good idea, I'll try the strings first tonight.

This works! Thanks!!! I used 2 ponytail scrunchies looped together and then looped thru the head straps instead of the shoelace...need the stretchiness for on and off until I get the hang of wearing this mask.
