So I was wondering if it's a Smartlink version problem, or a screen resolution problem. I can see your's just fine!

O.
O.,

My numbers are every bit as legible as bonjour's, and like you, I'm running v1.63. My screen resolution is normally 1920x1200 (24" monitor), but just for grins I dropped it to 1024x768 and it was still just as legible.

One thing that occurred to me; do you any kind of Internet Explorer add-on, unusual browser settings, or anything else that would make your IE non-standard? If you right-click on your SmartLink desktop and choose properties, you can see that the program is actually written in Java and uses IE to render the graphics. In fact if you are are fluent in javascript and HTML, you might get a kick out of right-clicking the SmartLink desktop and choosing "View Source".

If have a chance, please post a screen shot of what you're seeing.

Thank you, Fred. That's very interesting information there. Can you tell me what the A S H E L M stands for. I'm guessing (Apneas, snoring, hypopneas, e...., leakes, m...) Funny how it spells two tree names.

Actually M stands for: M Mixed/Non-Responding

The legend for the abbreviations is on the sell-sheet that I linked earlier in the thread.

Thank you, bonjour and El Pap.

You're right, El Pap, its not the resolution -- I have just checked. I guess you could say my IE was "non-standard" in the sense that I'm working on a Localized Hebrew version of the OS, (win XP); using IE 7 (localized) on one computer, IE 8 (localized) on the other.

For example -- in numbers along the scales (or in the charts) -- I have trouble telling an 8 from a 0, for instance, they both have none of the roundness seen in Fred's chart; they both look like fleas... numbers on the tops of histogram columns are almot indedcipherable

I don't know java scripts -- I do have Sun Java as plugin on in both systems, I wonder if it's that.... will disable it and see what happens

...Nope, no go - Sun Java made unavailable, reports just as bad;

O.,

Could it be as simple as that your localized O/S version is missing the font that SmartLink uses, and the O/S is substituting a less legible one?

From poring through the "view source" output, it looks like the software is using a font called "Verdana". You may want to check to see if you have that font - you can do so in either Control Panel -> Fonts, or just see if it's available in applications like MS Word.

If you're missing it, the open source website Source Forge has it on their website: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/core ... e?download

Edit - Looks like verdana is the font used in the Events summary table, not necessarily the chart legend. Though I still think it's probable you are missing one or more fonts, and that's why your output looks different.

So you did, El Pap! I thought 'what link' and went back to look and there it was. I guess I missed it my first ten times through. LOL apologies.

I think it may have to do with some of the default system encodings, or system fonts.... The default system fault - whichever it is, would have to show Hebrew letters. Verdana cannot do that - as I well know because I've seen it (it does exist on my systems). Whatever the reason, I'm relieved to know the reports OKayed by DeVilbiss did not look as bad on their computers as they do on mine.

You might want to look in to installing VirtualBox on your machine. Its a free Virtual Machine that allows you to install another operating system (or copy of your existing OS) that runs directly from the desktop just like any other application. If you installed Windows in it, you could choose a non-Hebrew system default that will make no changes to your existing OS, just the one inside the VM.

Just a thought.
