Hi Everyone,
I have my sleep study scheduled for tonight. Believe it or not, my wife and I agreed that quite possibly I have had this condition for over 20 years. Although, I have always felt a tired during the day, I just thought that was how it was supposed to be. My wife has grown more nervous over the past year because my snoring, jerking, waking and irregular breathing have worsened.
I just turned 50, and my doctor suggested several tests, and when I told him about my sleeping issues, he suggested the sleep test. Hopefully they find the problem and we can get on the way to a good nights sleep.
I''ve read through quite a few posts and learned a lot. I'm sure I'll be posting often for your advice as I go through this process.
Thanks
Sleep Study Tonight
Re: Sleep Study Tonight

Hello & Welcome, rnrbno! Glad you found this forum—SO much useful info and everyone here is so willing to help!
You're lucky to have found this forum as you begin CPAP--took me almost year before I found this place and, with the help of folks here, got my CPAP therapy working as it should. It does take time to get everything tweaked and working at its best, so patience is key as one begins CPAP. Good luck with your sleep study tonight!

Have fun tonight
Seriously tho, make sure they test you sleeping on your back; if it's a split study (where you wear a mask and they determine the pressure needed to stop events) make sure they do it with you sleeping on your back. For many, apnea is positional, I had almost no events sleeping on my side and I was diagnosed with severe apnea. No more back sleeping for me!

Hi rnbno,
Congratulations. I'm not congratulating you on probably having sleep apnea. I am congratulating you on finding this forum before you had to begin getting your equipment.
You were fortunate indeed. Many people struggle with the strangness of using cpap. Here you will find experienced cpapers who will respond to your questions and encourage you.
Indicidentally, your symptoms sound like you might have a super-duper case of sleep apnea.
Glad to have you with us.
