Re: neck pain?
I just went through this whole ideal. I sleep on my side and the bottom straps of my mask were cutting into the back of my neck. It took a lot of experimenting and sleeping a few nights without XPAP at all to figure this out.
I had to switch to a mask that doesn't have straps that wrap around my neck. I've been using the Mirage Swift LT for Her for about a week now and I like it very much. No more neck pain for me! Good luck!

Re: neck pain?
if the masks doesnt leak only when lying stiffly on back then tighten the straps
lie comfortably and relaxed in bed on back or side

Try Pad-a-cheeks. I got it, it works. You can get it on-line somewhere here. Someone referred it to me on this site a while ago, it made a big difference.
