BiPAP and Cervical Fusion Surgery

Post by wlbecker » Sun Jul 05, 2009 7:18 pm

So now I am worried. I am just getting the hang of Sleep Apnea and can stand That F***ing Machine (I call it TFM) for about 3-6 hours. Now I am facing Cervical fusion surgery this week...what a horrible 2009! But I need to wear a Miami-J collar for 6-10 weeks. Does anybody have any experience and what do I have to look forward to??

I have a friend that had that surgery last week. She is on cpap. She had the surgery on Thursday and was at church this morning. She is doing quite well. She said she can use her cpap with the full face mask, but that together with the collar, she feels somewhat claustrophobic. I recommended this board to her yesterday. You are not alone.

Good luck with your surgery!
