Problem with Smartcard reading DATA

Post by Gordyp » Wed Jul 01, 2009 3:19 pm

Hi, y'all,
I have a fairly new A Flex machine (specifics shown below) and after a few weeks of operation I find I'm not getting a readout. BTW, there are no flashing lights telling me there is a problem. The block chart for time usage is showing black, not the usual green/blue and there is no DATA on the readout. At first I thought it was a faulty machine, but after a solid test with a titration setting 20cm. H2O, there is still no DATA.

Three things:

1. I had previously reset the parameters to suit my personal requirements, but have done this many times before with no problems.
2. On one occasion I may have not totally emptied the humidifier when I transported the machine. I know this is a very bad thing to do.
3. I removed and checked the smartcard module and humidifier then replaced them.

My question is this: Has anyone had a similar problem and found a solution? Do I have to re-boot the computer, and if so how do I do that. I don't mean turn it on and off, rather is there something else?

Cheers, Gordyp.

I have exactly the same problem with the same machine. It recorded data fine for a month and then stopped - the data download shows only that the machine has been on, but nothing else. My RT gave me a new smartcard and said that maybe the card got damaged.

Hi, Ivory,
thanks for the tip. I'll try a new smartcard and see what happens.

Which are you not seeing the data in/on -
1. the LCD
2. in Encore?
Has it worked before? You do know the LCD can be turned off in the menu?
