Haven't posted in quite awhile, but I have a question some of you might be able to help me with. In addition to APAP, I have to use 3L of oxygen at night. Having a big bulky heavy concentrator has made camping and long trips quite complicated. We also tend to want to stay in campgrounds that do not have electricity or allow use of generators. Therefore, I'm considering changing to a liquid oxygen system. I'm looking for a system that provides continuous flow (due to APAP machine) and has a home reservoir that is small enough to be able to move it to a truck back seat/floor without killing the mover's back! Also need the portable part of the system to be pretty light weight. And of course, I want the lowest loss rate possible!!
Any information about your experiences would be helpful and very appreciated.

Re: APAP with oxygen and travel
I use oxygen 2L with my CPAP at night and am also a camper. I went camping about a month ago for the first time with my CPAP and oxygen. I have a smaller portable oxygen concentrator that I took along and we went to a campground with electric and that worked out well for me. We then went to a no hook up area that was established yet wasn't a campground and used a generator and that worked well also.
As far as oxygen goes, what I know about it was when my mom was on it. There is the concentrator (which you can purchase a smaller portable unit for travel), there is compressed oxygen which comes in different size tanks ( a common size "D" tank only lasts about 6 hours though) and then there is liquid oxygen (highly flammable, so not a good choice for traveling and dissapates when not used from the helios holder).
If someone else knows more about traveling and camping with oxygen, would love to hear about it, otherwise, I will just have to adapt my camping to what works best for me.

Ternes4202,
Which portable concentrator do you use, I hope it's an Eclipse and you are using it in continous mode. If this is not the case, you are probably not getting (or getting very little) oxygen at night. All of the other portable concentrators on the market currently only use pulse dose technology, this is not suitable for use with a PAP system of any kind.
