change of pressure

Post by albers123 » Sat Jun 20, 2009 10:09 am

My presure was at 22/18. My doctor reduces my pressure to 18/13. Now i feel so tired, and in the "fog" again. My question is, should I be feeling this way? Shoud I ask the doctor to raise my pressure up again, or will it take some time to get use to the new pressure? My AHI has gone up, last nite it was 2.2, and AI 0.0 My normal AHI has been between 0.5-1.5.

If there's been no change in the oxygen bleed, and everything is fucntioning properly, I wouldn't wait to get used to the new pressure, I woudl contact the doctor.
Emphasis the way you feel - I doubt the numbers will convince the doctor - some of them don't realize that for some of us, there's a correlation between the numbers and the way we feel.

Hi...your numbers a very good, but again it's how you feel. You might give it another night or two and if you don't feel better contact your doc. FYI and AI under 5 is excellent and since yours is 0.0 your apnea's are being treated. Your AHI is also very good...my AI are around 3 and my AHI is around 9.

Actually, the business of 5 being the magic number to be under just doesn't impress me much. I think it's an arbitrary one arrived at by MD's and may be one that officially you're not supposed to 'die' if your #''s are below, but I think how you feel is at least as important. My #'s are consistently no higher than (and often lower than) 1-something, but I can feel just as crappy then as otherwise, though I should say that it could be my fault at times - staying up too late!

Thank you to all who have replied. I will be calling the Doctor frist thing monday morning. I also think that is is not so much the numbers, it is the way a person feels. I have worked so hard to rise out of the "fog" and refuse to to go back to the way I use to feel!!!

Thank you Happy fathers day to all

I don't feel good unless my AHI + FL < 1
Do you know why the pressure was decreased? What else is going on?

My presure was decrease because of what i call the blow fish effect. My mouth would fill up with air, I tape, so hence the "blow fish effect".Just been to the primary doctor for a check up, blood work showed everything is fine!

thanks
