cpap and basal body temperature

Post by hyperjma » Thu Jun 18, 2009 8:19 am

My husband and I will be trying to get pregnant in the next few months or so, and before I started CPAP therapy I took my basal body temperature every morning. Has anyone used the cpap machine and also succesfully been able to take their basal body temperature in the morning? Thing is, you need to take the temp while you are laying down in bed before you do anything so as not to skew the results. I am worried that the heat from my humidifer will affect the temperature?
Any help? suggestions? previous ladies who were in the same boat?

I don't know. Would running the humidifier without heat (passover) work? Or, would it cool you? Could you tolerate your CPAP without the humidifier for a few days?

the temperature needs to be taken every morning in order to get baseline patterns.

I don't think it would make a difference - the temperature is not that high - not like drinking hot tea or breathing steam. It is no different then warm room temperature. just rip the mask off and put the thermometer in. Let husband turn it off if it is not the type that turns off automatically.

I didn't have a CPAP when I did those things to get my youngest . Good luck!
