I use a Respironics M Series Pro machine and have Encore Pro for looking at my nightly charts. As you all know, the data is time-stamped; for example, today's chart has me sleeping from 11:14 pm to 5:32 am.
The problem is that the time is off by an hour. How does the machine know what time it is anyway? And how does one set it? I know how to access the clinical menu but I see no options for time setting. Is there a solution to this issue? Is it done through Encore Pro somehow? Looked there too but can't find it.
How does my M Series Pro know the time?
Re: How does my M Series Pro know the time?
You can find some more detail on it by searching the forums, but it boils down to the time is kept by an internal clock, set by the manufacturer, that so far, we haven't found out a way to change.major_works wrote:I use a Respironics M Series Pro machine and have Encore Pro for looking at my nightly charts. It takes a special ("expensive") cable to connect a computer to the machine and some special software to reset the clock. OR, you could have it sent back to the factory (if there is no DME in your area that has that equipment.....and most don't).
You can count on it losing about one minute (or more) per month. Yeah......another one of Respironics' "brilliant" designs.
It was set to GMT when it was built and the software takes the time zone from your computer and converts the data to your time.

Re: How does my M Series Pro know the time?
Thanks for the responses. I'm sure this is hackable but that would take some doing. As long as it's more or less correctly clocking the amount of time I sleep, I suppose that's enough. It would be nice if the charts showed the right turn-in and wake-up times but I'll just continue to overlook it.
